Rumor : Naughty Dog is working on a nother PS5 game

Aye, that would be good.

I'd love a new IP, too. Perhaps something more AA than AAA, so they can get it done faster.
We're getting a new IP with Intergalactic bald chicks in space but tbh I really miss the uncharted games, especially the early ones with all the banter and supernatural globe trotting escapades and I'm bloody tempted to get Vita just to play Abyss because I miss that style of game that nobody does quite like ND that and I have a bit of a man crush on Drake

Take a good look at that list again…… are you honestly impressed? They have spent the last five years recasting the same damn PS3 game. What a waste of time and resources. Remasters of remasters of the same three games…. 🥱
It's a normal list for a big AAA game studio that evolved in these years from a 1 main team to 2/3 main teams. They aren't faster or slower than the other equivalent studios. The remasters, remakes and ports are mostly done by external teams combined with a small in-house team of mostly juniors getting experience. Which is good for the studio, like the money also coming from their non-gaming stuff (again, mostly developed by outside teams too)..

I bet money intergalactic will be a visually impressive woke fest…
Looking at their recent games and the teaser yes, pretty likely it will.

at some point people are gonna run out of patience with ND…..
Myself. I started to see the first woke bits in Uncharted 4 and started to get worried in Lost Legacy. My worries got confirmed in TLOU2, which had some things I loved but I hated to see them getting rid of Nate and Joel, specially with Joel in that way.

This time Intergalactic won't have the hype caused for being a sequel of the previous Uncharted titles or TLOU1, and now people see the wokism coming, so may underperform in sales if being the next ND/Sony game isn't enough.

Steady on. No need defend ND so passionately.

This isn't a dig at ND. Long development times are impacting the industry. That's my point.
I'm not defending ND, I'm defending the truth. Before TLOU2, outside one fialed try, the typical small overlap of the end of a project with the start of the next one, ND mostly worked only in a single big project at the same time.

Once they branched the TLOU2 MP into its own game, they had two. Once the SP part of TLOU2 got released, they started Intergalactic, and according to them they have another unoannounced SP game that should have started around early 2023. So at some point, they had 3 big new projects under development, on top of all the minor projects of the remasters/remakes/ports/non-gaming adaptations.

TLOU Online got cancelled, something that from time to time sometimes happens in all game companies. The development of AAA games takes longer each generation, and now normally takes on average around 5-9+ years, a bit more when new IP, had the covid in the middle, moving to new engine/generation etc.

With current AAA time development, f not cancelled TLOU Online could have been released around late 2025-2029. Intergalactic would make sense to get released around 2026-2030. Games now take way longer to be made than in the PS3 days, specially if teams try to reduce crunch as much as possible.

Mate, you already replied to this post over a month ago.

at this rate they might not release a PS5 game at all, if PS6 is rumored to be 2027.

That gap is shrinking by the day.
