[Tidux] Rumors on PS5 Pro 2026 Update

Massive W if true. FSR4 is fantastic so to get that on PS5 Pro would be a big win. I hope they figure out how to make it less expensive to run.

All this is making me cautiously optimistic for PS6. AI upscaling on console can be transformative in allowing better motion handling and freeing up resources for RT all at 60+ fps.

Haven't seen anything from this Tidux guy in a while. Is he legit?

How funny would it be if the PS5 Pro does not actually run GTA6 at 60fps (without having to resort to Switch 1 visuals).
Whats funny about that? More like expected.

How come people still doesn't understand that the absense of 60 fps modes are due to CPU limitations and since the Pro doesn't offer any meaningful improvements here it was never meant to be an "60 fps enabler".

The Pro version won't offer a 60 fps mode unless the Poor version does (which it probably won't).

I thought the performance mode was still 30 fps on PS4 Pro just a more locked 30 fps unless I am misremembering

That is correct

"Both of the Pro's modes target 30 frames per second, with the performance option essentially acting as a guarantee for a locked 30fps"

Rockstar is a good studio to get the most out of of the console. Pssr struggled from a certain resolution when upscaled which caused shimmering in certain games. If this new update indeed improved the pssr or using a full fat version of fsr4 then ps5 pro for resolution can probably go as low as 260p and upscaled to 4k 60fps without sacrificing image quality or maybe 4k 120fps depending the game. There for freeing up gpu even more. But the input lag would probably be a different story

I just don't feel like dropping the money on a Pro this go around. In the last gen, I went with the God of War PS4 Pro(silver one with the runes) because I felt like it really made a difference.

In this iteration, it's far more expensive(for me these days anyway) and I'm not seeing as much of a benefit.

I'm still looking forward to seeing how the tech evolves and it may end up being a very strong point in PS6.

I think there's big potential in how much AI will be able to help with game performance in the coming 2 or 3 years.

PS6 may not torch the spec sheet, but AI enables it to do far more than it would seem at first glance.

All software improvements are welcome but temper your expectations with that old Ryzen 5 chip still onboard: 60fps in GTA6 will not now magic itself into existence.
