Rumor: New Wii U controller (analog sticks)?

And Zelda most likely won't be using them. =(

I hope this wasn't a lie and Anouma talking about WM+ was:

I can't believe people actually defend Friend Codes. It seems there will always be someone to defend anything.

Huh, I honestly feel the exact opposite. I guess it has to do with how you hold your thumb on the stick or something. Though I also like the octagonal gate so maybe I'm just weird :P

yup, I think this is the case.

Gamers are a spoiled bunch though.

I remember those bitching about the 3DS friend code situation where you only have to enter the code ONCE and then never again.

The only bitch I have about the 3DS FC system is that BOTH people have to enter the code.
Man I wish it would let me know who wanted to add me.

If they're making the analogs sticks instead of slide pads and giving them clicks according to the rumors, I wonder if they're also gonna make the triggers analog.

I remember wanting that keyboard controller for the GameCube so bad...Probably would not have been very fun to play PSO with it though. The new WiiU controller looks alright, I'd have to give it a spin first before really being able to tell how comfy it'll be. I still remember picking up the GameCube controller for the very first time at a Cube Club in Chicago...so nice.

It is a step in the right direction but they could have easily used usernames. Like I said, this can all be solved with the proper parental controls. Give the parents the options to:

- Show gamertag online or use a placeholder
- Allow messages from strangers or block them
- Allow friend requests from strangers or block the,
- Allow the user to listen to other players online or not
- Enable mic or not

- Allow the user to listen to other players online or not
- Enable mic or not

I believe these two are possible with parental controls on 3DS. At least the Heroes of... eh whatever it was called, the game from Square Enix. At least the dev commentary trailer on the eshop mentioned that "you can even talk to random people online, provided the parental controls allow it"

Another step in the right direction, but I think they should have done these options from the 3DS itself and not inside the game. (unless it is possible on the 3DS itself? I haven't even checked tbh)

Well, I made this gif.

Much like it was mentioned in the Destructoid Wii Remote comparisons, "red beans and rice didn't miss her."

Oh, Sir Mix-A-Lot...

Yeah. I don't get it. I'm not saying it's a perfect way of doing things, but nothing is. There's always a trade-off somewhere.

And yeah, that bitching you mentioned? Still happening.

The easiest way around this: Tie your Nintendo Network Friend Code to your Facebook and Twitter accounts. And suddenly, you'd rarely even need to know a Friend Code at all.

.

Yeah.

My point was basically that gamers will never stop complaining.

I mean, game companies aren't going to go as far as to let people like you and me create their wares.

Nor should they.

I mean, some people STILL aren't satisfied with the new Wii U controller and sure that's their right but it'll always be something.

Hopefully they'll swap the Analog stick/ABYX placements.
I'm still hoping for a Classic Controller Pro 2 or GameCube Controller 2, though.

I don't care about the username vs. friend code battle as long as I get a display name. Usernames without separate display names are garbage.
