Rumor: Quantum Break delayed to early 2016

So besides QTEs, it's not likely to be all that far removed from The Order then?

I take it you've never played a Remedy game in your life? This just comes across as dumb otherwise.

That's good for you, but I'd have to concur with that looking like a terrible lineup that's supposed to justify ownership of an Xbox One this year.

If you have to include F2P games then that should be a clear warning sign the line up is lacking if nothing else.

Seriously?

So you have no clue that people have preferences or might love a certain series?

Welcome to Gaf...a gaming forum, where someone would buy an X1 JUST for Forza 6 or a PS4 JUST for Bloodborne.

I'm also expecting Tomb Raider and Star Wars Battlefront to be delayed.

I'm almost 100% sure Disney wants Battlefront to be released around the same time as Star Wars VII, so there is no chance in hell it's getting delayed until next year. I also doubt EA would release Hardline in the state it's in, in the beginning of the year if they didn't have something already planned for the end of this year.

Also isn't Tomb Raiders exclusivity period Holiday of this year? If anything the 360 version would get delayed while they worked on the Xbox One port to meet the time frame.

Agreed. Forza 6, Halo 5, Tomb Raider, 2-3 other bigger retail console exclusive games + indies/digital games + multiplats all make 2015 a very solid year for the Xbox One. Just as good as 2014, if not better (due to indies games finally coming out on a regular basis now).

So beside GeoW collection, there is also 1-2 unannounced AAA exclusives for 2015?

You're hilarious.

The only game that interests me on the PS4 this year is Uncharted 4 but that doesn't mean the PS4's lineup is "terrible" or "doesn't justify owning a PS4".

One major exclusive + multiplat support is enough justification for many people in terms of buying a console. Really silly thing to say.

Halo, Tomb Raider, Forza.

Indies

Most likely one or two AAAs that have not been announced yet. Just depends on if you like the games or not.

Those are all Fall releases right? Has Microsoft forgotten about the rest of the year, or are we just not privy to some last minute announcements? I personally thought Quantum Break was their big summer game, but it looks like for the first 2/3rds of the year, AAA wise all they'll have is Fable? Does Fable Legends have a release date yet?

I've played everything they've produced at one time or another, and I can remember Alan Wake being sorely lacking on the gameplay front. Maybe saying it was cutscene heavy would be incorrect, but it certainly was not light on story scenes that didn't really have 'gameplay' in them as such.

What other Remedy games might have to do with my statement, I have no idea :/

When your platform otherwise offers the worst versions of other games on shelves, the games you can't buy on other platforms are going to have to carry a lot of the weight when it comes to value proposition imo.

Speak for yourself.

I thought I was :/

You really think MS is going to announce 2-3 AAA games at E3 and have them all release in the Fall along their other games? Seems very unlikely. As far as unannounced games go I'd be extremely surprised to see more than 1.

He said in the Kotaku interview that the "episode" would change dependant on the players choice during the junctions, it seems unlikely they are shooting multiple full length episodes for these choices. We had a massive thread about this before and the consensus was we were looking at maybe 10 minute episodes or there abouts.

How long are you expecting these episodes to be ?
Maybe 15 minutes I dunno.

the way they've talked about it seems to be a digital tv show and not something like night springs that was just a short. If it was just a short they'd just call it a short right?

There's way too much emphasis on them being a tv show or episodes for them to not actually be episodes.

actually not sad about this i think this is a good thing i want them to take their time with it anyways, to much games coming out that are caca broken so if they can clean it up with the extra time more power to them

I guess you feel this way about the PS4, Wii U, and X1 then?

I wouldn't call any of them lacking or unwarranted of purchase....

...and I have a GTX 980/i7 rig that blows them out of the water.

According to Aaron Greenberg's recent tweets, a couple of unannounced games are coming after State of Decay in April. Forza 6 has already been announced, so I'm guessing one will be the Gears of War collection and the other will be a downloadable game (Battletoads?).

30 min(i wish i could remember where i read this but i remember reading this)

Huh? To the bolded... Don't most games fall into this same category? It's not like the cut scenes in a game like Infamous: SS had playable elements in them... they're cut scenes. Uncharted cut scenes... nope, no gameplay.. TLOU... huh, what do you know.. the same... Alan Wake was very story heavy, but it was far removed from the formula of a game like The Order.

No release date yet. Could see it as an August release though.

ayy lmao at people bringing up The Order 1886 here. A better comparison would be Uncharted 4 if you really need to have a fight cause both are TPSs with a focus on storytelling during gameplay along with the setpieces.

Order just had a bridge.

They have a pretty good history of announcing retail games at (or around) E3 that come out just a few months later. Forza series for example is a perfect example of this.

Forza Motorsport 6 was announced in January of the same year its releasing (this year; 2015) -- Earliest announcement for a Forza game in a pretty long time from what I can remember. Think that will give them a decent amount of room to have some other announcements. We'll see.

But yeah, I would say that around six bigger retail exclusives for the 2015 "after E3" period is possible. Just have to spread things out right and make sure many games aren't up against the usual November onslaught.

For example, Quantum Break in late August or early September (if the delay isn't true), Halo 5 in late September, Forza 6 and another possible exclusive in October, and Tomb Raider alongside another possible exclusive in November would work. That's six games right there that wouldn't come out to the competition.

Wait, you think they are going to conjure up two to three 2015 AAA releases out of thin air? Come on son, there's wishful thinking and there's this.

Shame, loved Alan Wake and Max Payne and was really looking forward to this.

I think Tomb Raider will be the only other game I play this year on the XB1.

If it's for quality reasons, then I'm all for it, MS definitely don't want to be shipping buggy games of this calibre following the MCC episode. However, Phil Spencer did say that some titles had to be moved due to congestion this fall...I wonder if that has something to do with it.

so here's how I see it.
MS told Remedy after Alan Wake that they want them to make a beast of a game to sell their console. Remedy doesn't have a game like that so they take looong time
to make one. MS put lots of money into it so they do not wanna rush it just to release it fast.
Now Remedy sees that they need some more time for the game and MS has put so much money into it they have to abide. Now the only real new exclusive for Xone is sceduled for 2016 and not holiday 2015 season and that basicly means that 2015 is lost for Xone already. Cuz come on, every US halo-fanboy bought it already and H5: Guardians is not really a system-seller anymore.

Damn I even feel a bit pity for MS.

Not sure why my post is getting this reaction. Seems like a lot of you guys don't remember their E3 conferences last gen.

Interesting use of "thin air" too as if it's impossible to announce games that had multiple years of work when they're close to being done.

This isn't true at all. Some Halo fans wanted to wait for the new entry in the series when it came to making a jump to a $300+ console.

They promised a lot with Alan Wake graphically and gameplay-wise as an example. There's always huge hype around their games, but it's mostly them hyping it up to Lionhead levels or just below.

'as an example'? I mean it's arguable whether that game undelivered visually but prior to that they made max payne 1 & 2, two of the most visually impressive games of their day and still two of the best TPS games of all time.

alan wake is the exception, not the norm, for remedy

Well I can't get on board with this logic.

Tomb raider and halo 5 are two of my most anticipated games on any platform.

I don't remember any games aside from MCC being announced for 2014 last E3?

2016 works for me: quantum break, scalebound, crackdown, fh:2 (hopefully) and a nice backlog of quality games. no incentive for me to get an xbo this year.

Yeah, I think we're looking at 15-30 minutes an "episode".

Alan wake is a classic. Compared to this gen titles it's a flipping game of the century. American nightmare was good too. Remedy are top tier for a small studio. Quantum break will deliver for me. I know it. It looks insane. If I see anyone else try and tie this game with the order again I'll be upset :( people tried to tie Alan wake with heavy rain last gen. I don't think they know that remedy make real great playing action games.

Was announced before E3 as Forza 6 was this year. There was only one 2014 announcement at E3 and it was MCC.

It was like a week before E3, right? Nothing like Forza 6.

That's why we need an Alan Wake Collection for XB1 along with an announcement of new Alan Wake episodes.

Its exactly Forza 6. Certainly not nothing like it. Its a yearly franchise that always gets announced before E3. Every single Forza game for like 5 years has been announced before E3. F6, FH2, F5, FH were all announced before E3.

Forza 6 - Jan 13
Forza Horizon 2 - June 2
Forza 5 - May 21
Forza Horizon - March 5
Forza 4 - Dec 11

Exactly. People are being extremely petty at this point.
