If you want a smaller phone, you should honestly just get the Moto X. Also I see that the Compact Z3 is still 500 USD to import, so same price as the Moto X

I love Nexus devices. I have a Nexus 10, the Nexus 5, and for a while had the Nexus 7. There's no way I'm buying this if it's 5.9 inches. I won't go as far as to say the Nexus 5 is "perfect", but it's a good fit with me. 5.1 or 5.2 I might be able to deal with, but 5.9 is ridiculous.

Same here. I use the Nexus 5 currently and there is no way I would want a bigger phone. 6 inches is just crazy.

The z3c is becoming more and more attractive though.

A big screen Nexus device makes sense. I mean isn't the Nexus devices pretty much the android Dev phone that's used as the baseline for apps and development? If so, Google obviously see phones getting bigger and getting a big screen dev device out there will allow developers to get accustomed to the larger work space and make apps that better utilise it. Not to say the Nexus 5 had a tiny screen or anything.

The N5 has good enough specs to keep running new versions of Android smoothly for a few years yet, so maybe they'll keep it as the cheaper option going forward. Perhaps bump up some of the specs, like giving it another GB of RAM. The SOC is absolutely fine, it runs L (the preview, at least) just as flawlessly as the N6 will.

A lot. It's the camera I have with me at all times and the one most likely to capture precious family moments that happen unexpectedly.

In that case I'd rather have a quick one. This one is. And so is the M8's, per say (and the iPhone obviously).
I mean it's not a bad camera by any means. And the "Best Shot" feature in particular sounds like one you would like quite a lot.

Man I can't wait for this thing, definitely need to open up some room in the budget (still rocking a nexus 4).

Also, at work with no time to skim the thread, can anyone post me some details on it's camera? Doesn't really matter per say as I'm buying it regardless, but would be nice to know!

Also hoping they go 64bit to ease up a bit on people developing apps, and to better utilize the power of the chip.

Fuck man, I don't want a 6" phone. But that fucking battery though, seems like a huge improvement. That's what I care about the most.

Are we sure they're not doing 2 different models like the iPhone 6 did?

I want to replace my Nexus 5 because the screen has a huge crack, but man, 5.9 just seems way to big. Current size is perfect.

What's the point of using a phone as the baseline that the majority dont use or dont want.

Please release a version that's the same size as the N5. perfect phone size for me, if its too big i'm gonna have to find a different phone to upgrade to.

If price is good I think I'll upgrade my nexus 4. If not I might have to wait a year and get the 6.

Nexus 4 not bad except battery life has been crappy now

I think I can go up to $450 max for my budget and I'd get it outright no plan.

Just give me a Nexus 5 refresh, Google.

Nexus 5 body, but little thicker to allow for bigger battery
Snapdragon 805 + 3GB RAM
Better camera

Bam, GOAT phone

I bought an LG G2 because of the camera and battery life, but frankly, even 5.2" is a tad too big for me and I don't like the slippery back. The Nexus 5 form factor is perfection.

Am I one of the lucky few that doesn't have problems sticking phones in a pocket? I'm actually hoping it will be 5.9 inches lol. I'll probably put a case on it as well :/

No one needs more than 32 mbs of ram.

*whooosh*

You're sure as hell going to notice the difference between 32mbs and 3gbs of ram.

You're not going to notice the difference between 1080p and 1440p. Scratch that, you will, in the battery section.

But don't worry, while Sony is pulling away in the battery game, you can say you have more pixels than the person next to you...

Your "smaller", 5.2" Nexus exists, and is called Moto X.
It's customizable, beautiful, powerful. It'll get almost instant updates.

About its main problems: I don't know what people expect or need from a phone's camera, but despite not being an iPhone, actual results seem pretty satisfying to me.
Its sensor is one other flagships sport, too, so no one says that it can't be updated via software, exactly like last year.

And as for the battery, don't freak out.

This.

But don't you know that bigger is better? I can't wait for the Nexus 7 phone edition. OEMs have lost their goddamn minds.

I was planning to stick to my Nexus 4 for at least another year but if this has a beastly battery and good camera I may not be strong enough to refuse.

Are they trying to force me to buy an iPhone 6? The Nexus is the only good Android phone available in the UK (Google flavour Android only).
