It's not a Phil issue it's a MS issue.
Terrible out of touch company.
It's both. All of Xbox top management should be fired, as should Satya Nadella for chasing the unsustainable "infinite growth" and AI. When Windows loses 400 million users over the course of a few years and your gaming division can't put out consistent games or successfully maneuver through the mature console market anymore, you know you screwed up big.

Let's not forget, Spencer was the reason why Xbox one had no decent first party games as he was in charge of first party studios towards the end of Xbox 360 and Xbox one launch. He flopped at every job and got promoted.

Besides windows(which is successful but shit) and azure, everything they touch goes to shit.
Let's poor one out for Nokia.

He is the worst CEO in Microsoft history.

lol so still cashing the ceo paychecks couple more years, just to fuck off in time to leave the incoming clusterfuck on someone else's lap.
he can then spent retirement giving interviews, blaming mattrick and his successor for the death of xbox.
dude is a highway robber. xbox deserves him

Mattrick may have botched the xbone, but Spencer killed an entire platform. I wonder how he'll be remembered 10+ years into the future.

Throw his ass out. This incompetent cuntrag is responsible for just about everything. He made stupid decisions for years, doubled and tripled down on them, refused to correct course, and look where it brought them. SO MUCH OF THIS was avoidable.

And yeah, making decisions in that position is tough. You're not going to be right all the time. You also shouldn't be wrong almost all the time. You shouldn't make smug statements about the bright future of the business in the face of people losing their livelihoods (and this is far from the first time he's come across as an ass for that exact reason). But no - for years, he continued to make stupid fucking calls, failed to see obvious market trends and risks to his decisions, hired shit people for leadership roles, and built Xbox into a completely unsustainable shitshow.

He deserves every bit of ire he gets. Fuck Phil Spencer.

That news was retracted.

Microsoft clarifies the claimed number of Windows users

Since this article was published, Microsoft has updated its post to say the following:

"Today, Windows is the most widely used operating system, powering over 1.4 billion monthly active devices through an open and flexible platform that connects people, ideas and innovations on the Windows PCs they use every day around the world."
