I'm not really sure what you mean. Russia has a limited amount of manpower in Ukraine. They need to take pauses after engaging in offensive operations.
Just google Russian operational pause and you will find a million articles stating they started one on the 8th or so. This isn't my insight, just what all the analysists say.
The analysts also said at the start of the war it would be over in 3 days. According to some I just wasn't reading the right ones apparently. What's really bizarre to some is that I was forming my own opinion.
You specifically called it a pause "after a big advancement" implies it was intentional and not forced. What big advancement are you talking about? There hasn't been one since the start of the war. Since then it's been Ukraine continually pushing them back with Russia sustaining massive losses in forces and positions from their initial push.
They're looking to Iran for arms supplies and suing their own systems makers.
A pause in forward movement doesn't mean letting up on the enemy. Even if it was an intentional pause, there would be a need to keep artillery on Ukraine during the pause to keep them unbalanced. It's not a ceasefire.

They recently took Luhansk which is what I mean by big advancement.
They also took pauses for example after the Popasna breakthrough, but these were generally localised.
I'm not sure what you mean by intentional vs forced. It is intentional in the sense that they know they need to take a pause, and announced they would be taking one. It is also forced because the manpower issues are creating the need in the first place.
Yes they are going to need to keep artillery shelling (which they are) but it will be more limited compared to offensive pushes.
Furthermore, on Ukraine's side, an operational pause is a situation to take advantage of, which is part of the reason we see bigger pushes from Ukraine currently. Strike while your enemy is weak and all that.
That this pause wasn't planned for by Russia is what I meant by intentional. It was forced upon them by circumstance.

Russia announced they were taking a pause and you find that believable and the reasons they give for it? You think Russia controls the pace of the war? You think they'll be allowed to pause?
Russia got shit kicked on their advance and went as far as they can go. This possibly isn't a pause, it's the tipping point in the war where Ukraine pushing them out.

The Russian reason given for the pause is that their troops just need some rest, and time to get letters from home and stuff. I obviously don't believe that, and that is not the reason I said they were taking the pause for.
I'm not really sure why you are being so aggressive here. Nothing I said is controversial, and I never said the things you are asking.
You said it was after a big advancement. I was curious what you meant and how you got to that.
Today's missile strike would suggest there isn't any sort of pause/reduction in artillery strikes that was planned. More likely it's the depots being hit was original point of discussion.

Give them capability to strike the docks At Sevastopol. That's where the subs hide to fire their missiles at civilian targets. More anti-ship and anti-sub equipment needed.
This constant fear of escalation is silly. Putin doesn't want full mobilization. He knows his support will waver if Muscovites start getting shoved into the war. There's only so much they can press-gang from the outer provinces

The original post there was relevant, relates to energy and makes easy sense. It's the US position put forward by their intelligence and such for use by whoever is in office.
What I was asking about was regarding a later post highlighting a comment in a tweet related to it.
There isn't a clear connection with Ukraine and I was genuinely curious and annoyed. Those aren't exclusive to each other. Still haven't gotten an answer, btw.

The way to sort this out for Ukraine is that they don't want to destroy Russia. They want them out and held accountable at the Hague. The latter for whatever that means, but that's for later. Get them out first.
There's no plans to destroy from Ukraine or other Nato nations.
