Ryan Gosling finally ate his cereal.

This is one of the more oddly, strangely touching things I've seen at Slate in awhile. So it makes sense that it would involve Ryan Gosling, I guess.

in 2013, Ryan McHenry created a Vine meme in which he holds a spoonful of cereal up to a TV with Ryan Gosling on it, and Gosling appears to be disdainful of the cereal, refusing to eat it. It was a weird, goofy, ridiculous little gag, that only got better the more McHenry went to it.

McHenry was diagnosed with osteosarcoma that same year, and this last Sunday, he died. Gosling heard about it, and paid tribute to the man with his own Vine.

I thought it was a pretty decent gesture to make.

I remember that vine it was pretty funny! Is I t also the same guy who did the "I have cancer vine with footage taken from only god forgives with Ryan saying "wanna fight?"

RIP :(

Aww man I''m sad to hear what happened McHenry. I was just on his vine page like a week ago looking at his stuff. Very cool of Golsing. RIP.

I wish I knew of the vines beforehand. Really are hilarious. Actually, I think I saw somewhere else copying or spoofing them.

Dammit Ryan dammit...

Good guy Ryan Gosling.

Yeah, though he probably feels like a dick after that AMA and the original creator chiming in with a "forgive me" with a "No" a few weeks before the dude died.

Then again, I'm not sure if it's half-comedy or half-serious with that "no."

That's really cool of him.

On a side note I'd recognize that neon ball anywhere (behind him out the window). Harrah's New Orleans. Ryan, Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, and Steve Carell are all here in da Nola to film The Big Short about the financial collapse.

Now to just make sure my lovely girlfriend doesn't run into any of them out at the Saint or something

Hmm, I hate to be that guy but he abruptly stops chewing...it did not even look like he chewed to be honest, he just put it in his mouth and probably spit it it after. Regardless, great gesture. R.I.P

There's no way that "no" response isn't a joke, especially since the asking forgiveness is a joke in the first place.

I almost wish he took it a step further and mimicked the style of the meme, but this is a great gesture.
