I loved Stalker and all of it's expansions but I played them when they were all patched up. So I'll give the game a month or two before picking it up. I cannot imagine it running great at launch even with UE5 they use now, the previews somewhat reflect that.

Looks good. Day 1 for sure. Hoping performance isn’t completely borked.

Looking forward to it, but, let's be honest, this is going to be a riddled mess for the first couple of months judging by the company's history (and most companies' output for the past couple of years where the "release it, now patch it later ®" mantra is, unfortunately, the name of the game...

Let's hope it's not a stuttering mess on PC. Open world game + UE5 = recipe for disaster.

It will be. There hasnt been a single one without and this game has been delayed multiple times. More importantly is how often the stutters are. As long as theyre just the ones that load assets here and there, it should be fine. Im more worried about performance as this is an open world game I reckon.

EDIT: correction The Talos Principle 2 runs perfectly.

It sounds very, very positive.

It is already a success to launch something decent in the circumstances they have suffered, if they manage to launch a product that is also well received by critics and users, it will be worthy of applause.

Already preordered the limited edition despite having gamepass. It is a god damn dream game after all, one which survived not only a motherfucking cancellation and entire closure of its studio, but pandemic, office fire and a god damn war.

Read the gamepressure preview and it sounds perfect. He praises how polished it is, too, only issue were few crashes to desktop, so hopefully that will be taken care of by launch.

Sending power to GSC. They have been through literal war to make this game, hope the final result is the game they always wanted to make.

Yep, and the game from previews sound like the devs didn’t dumb it down which is amazing.

I am cautiously optimistic now and hoping for a success launch. 🚀

Will wait for reviews on the technical state PC side and get it shortly after launch.

I'm really looking forward to playing the game. I pre-ordered it to show my support for the devs, knowing they went through hell during development is the least I can do. Besides I love the Stalker franchise

Bloober went through hell too.

Sure does sound like a STALKER game. Glad they're keeping it hardcore, though it will put off some modern sensibilities.

Can't wait for this. Its been what since 2009, 15 years since the last stalker. I can't wait.

You know what makes stalker so great, the unknow, the exploration, abandoned buildings, the knowing that this is fantasy but based on a real event.
Also the whole setup for the zone is amazing. The factions, and open world, they were doing it well before it was mainstream.

They also had things that were not in fps games of that time and rarely now. Non hit-scanned guns where ballistics, velocity and bullet drop matter and are real things.
Accuracy is also something that increases with better guns.
Enemies and npcs that react to the world around you.
Stats and lots of loot that makes sense, but not in a diablo/borderlands way.

I haven't been following this, please tell me they kept all that and the loot system, didn't dumb it down to appease cod bros and fortnite teens?

I really hope the faction system is improved, and that this is still a Single player story adventure and not some multiplayer shooter (something stalker is not and shouldn't be. We have enough of those games and not enough single player fps games).

Yeah, the old stalker games are really something special atmosphere wise. Unfortunately I read already something about multiplayer plans later on. I am not a fan of this as well. If it sells really well, I would rather think about a further DLC or two instead.

I get why fans of the original are excited, but I’d be way more interested if it weren’t so hardcore. I hate hard games, which is why I have no use for the Souls genre.
