mine as well, I remember debating on forums back in the the day that while he might not be the most powerful of the gold saints he still was the fastest one since his attacks relied on his physical speed, oh the memories...

The best music is the piano when some one is going to die. I used to go to ride my bike to my grandma's house every Saturday night to watch it. Hong Kong TV only show it after midnight at Saturday.

Most saints had serious mental problems... Shun with his brother, Hyoga and his iced mother, Shiryu with his automutilation problem, Ikky and his antisocial personality disorder and finally Seiya with his "hit me one more time" sadomasochistic complex... What a bunch of freaks ^^

I would say Shiryu had some stripper complex but that's just me. I always forget they're supposed to be 13 years old.

I'm pretty sure that's their age in the manga. And they never address that in the anime but when they talk about Saori being a baby they always say something about the events that happened "13 years ago" when Aioros saved her. It's been years since I read the manga or seen the anime though.

I don't think any anime character has got his ass beat as much as seiya, guy gets his shit kicked but keeps getting up, only to make a comeback with a 1 hit ko to the enemy.

Fights just started and Shiryu just can't keep his armor on.I don't even why bothers to wear armor in first place if his just going to take it off.

Ok I'm looking at the scans, it is Saint Seiya Musou. The bronze saints are all using their original cloths, the Taurus gold saint is shown too. Like I said, this game is an obvious reponse to the success of the Fist of the North Star Musou game.

i checked the sale of this series on PS2 and first week numbers were around 80k.. so is it going to increase or decrease after almost 6 yrs of gap.

Every fighting game fan should watch Saint Seiya- as I think it was a real influence on the design of the genre. Kayane was a huge fan of it as a little girl also. That said, ironically, it also was a big influence in the development of yaoi.

That said, Saint Seiya is as Mexican as KOF and luchadores.

Fuck this just got me on a Saint Seiya kick. I had no idea the series had so much material.

Anyone care to recommend something for someone whose last experience with SS was in the early 90s? I watched all of the anime and I watched the Hades movie but I barely remember any of the movie.

Don't know how well the anime has aged so I dunno if I should give that a try.

Fuck it. I'm gonna rewatch the whole damn thing. TV + all the OVAs and Movies. Fillers and all.

Watch the Hades saga, the best one by far. I haven't read either Episode G or Lost Canvas (there's an anime for Lost Canvas too, but it's not finished yet afaik), but I've heard that they're miles better than anything written by Kurumada himself. After all, Kurumada at his best was very mediocre. The original manga has aged horribly. Yet I have all the tankoubons :)

This thread made me nostalgic for the original Saint Seiya figures. I remember my childhood friend had a huge collection of these things and with ridiculous points of articulation and all the armor parts (10+ for each figure) being diecast metal (The feet on the figures were diecast metal as well). The ones I saw recently weren't anything close to what the original figures were (completely plastic and flimsy).

Well, it's pretty well known that France has the most dedicated Saint Seiya fans in the world. I remember that Hades animation they did decades ago. So much hype.

I think they also did an RPG...Those people are mad crazy about Saint Seiya.

Old animes are a very unexplored genre of franchises that need new games ... except for dbz, of course =P

This, Cowboy Beboop, Furikuri, Yu Yu Hakusho, Sailor Moon, Rurouni Kenshin, Ranma, Rayearth (nothing against the saturn one), Sakura CardCaptors .....

They all have potential for really awesome cell shaded games !
