Morrigan Stark
Arrogant Smirk
Don't worry about starting class so much. It's like in Dark Souls, it doesn't matter that much in the long run.
Given how rare it is to find weapons (I think I found maybe two and they were both spears) I think the starting class matters a whole bunch in these kinds of games. From what I can tell your options are super limited early on, so finding the right class for the early game will make it a lot more enjoyable.
Granted I haven't played much, but I've gotten past the first boss and I haven't seen any abundance of armor or weapons.
I see weapons at the shop, but I can't use any. I think I much prefer the Dark Souls system of determining which items you can use based off of your stats and not ability nodes. I like being able to switch weapons as I find them, I don't want to be locked into one or two types of weapons for my whole playthrough (unless I grind a whole bunch I suppose).
You find the Kureimoa really early on and it's a great weapon that can be transmuted into several bigger swords (or left as is and upgraded), so it's good for a tank or paladin build. You also find a mace early on, and you can keep upgrading/transmuting that one too.Given how rare it is to find weapons (I think I found maybe two and they were both spears) I think the starting class matters a whole bunch in these kinds of games. I want to go back to my axe because I find slash attacks much more satisfying than hammers, but the dmg difference is so big
And the item to transmute to a rank 3 greataxe is apparently from a enemy in a zone I havent been in :/
How is the combat system for fans of their Dishwasher games?
Rough length of a single play through?
NG mode or after game?
P.
Never played their previous games but the combat here is reminiscent of the Souls series.
I've heard one of their previous games is kind of like a side scrolling Devil May Cry. This is definitely NOT that. It's much slower/more deliberate.
I havent used a elemental buff at all yet and I didnt change creeds so I guess im justbthe default one? I dont understand that system but I never got into the covenents in the souls games either

If you said yes to the first creed the guy at the start asks you, you're in the creed of The Three.
What item do you put on the sanctuaries you claim? Is it like a candle holder with 3 candles?
If yes, then cool, because that creed can get both lightning AND fire buffs that infinitely restock every time you rest.
Yes thats the one. I dont get how the worker...well works. It said he will stock things if you give him items, I chose the health flask the first time thinking it would give me a extra one but it didnt >_>
FUCK THISBOSSPIRATE
Its all downhill after him. Hardest boss in the game.
Played a little bit last night and beat the first boss. How do I heal though? I must be missing something, is it just with items?
Fireballs wrecked that first boss.
well he's dead. I got to the sanctuary in the next zone but I dont have the fast travel merchant bah. One of the few things I dont like about the game, just let me fast travel everywhere damn it. I want to go back and look for the mad alchemist but now I dont want to leave this zone and not be able to get back fast :/
edit: I dont have the watching woods sanctuary, so either I skipped the zone somehow (guide doesnt say its optional) or I guess I didnt find it? no wonder I didnt find the alchemist either
EDIT: yeah dont know how I missed tht the first time around. He was super easy at my level. And speaking of super easy,? more like rektUntouched Inquisitorlol, so easy. making good progress nowinquisitor![]()
Untouched inquisitor is super easy.
The other boss in that area is slightly harder. But now you beatthe rest of the game is super easy if a certain late game boss doesn't spam you from off screenpirate man
you picked up 3 "estus flasks" in the first sanctuary, you have to equip/select them. its big round red flasks. in the skill tree you can get more
Whats the difference between the the religions that you choose from at the start? Is it just flavor or do you get differences between the healing items that you get and the sanctuaries that you make?
I'm rolling with the Three right now after trying out the other two and I haven't noticed any differences except that the cleric in the second sanctuary won't sell me anything.
Lots of differences. See the details here:

Never gave me trouble tbh... Kraeken Wyrm (using melee/dex) and the last boss were way harder to me.Its all downhill after him. Hardest boss in the game.
Time for a brag (this is on my first character, dex build):The Witch of the Lake is the most bullshit boss in the game. Floating (half damage when jumping), offscreen attacks, homing missiles, etc. I died like 10 times to her.

Grats on finishing. You finished 10 hours faster than me, but I did get the platinum in like 32-ish hours rushing back through the game a second time.
I think at least part of it is that there has been such a deluge of great and often very time consuming games recently. I wouldn't even have spared it a second look if I didn't need an entirely separate second set of games for regular local coop session in addition to my normal go-to singleplayer/online games.I hope the lack of activity on the thread isnt indicative of PC people not caring about it but it probably is as for example in the steam thread only like 2 people bought it (including me).
I started playing this in local coop with a friend (despite initial misgivings about the art), and it's really fun.
One question, where the hell do I get spells from? I now can cast level 4 spells but I still haven't got any more than the single one I started with (mage class).

Anyway, awesome game, done for now, I would probably play again one day with a new character isntead of NG+, probably a mage.

Finally somebody! Do you need that CoOp item every time? Also do you recommend for someone who isn't really like use to playing games?
No, you just place the coop guy in one of your sanctuaries and then you can summon a (separately created) character there for the second player. The co-op is really well implemented actually, e.g. both players can independently use all the menus and talk to NPCs.Finally somebody! Do you need that CoOp item every time? I don't think it's a particularly good fit for casual co-op though, the base game is quite complicated and it really shines if you play through the entire thing together.
