Salt & Sanctuary (Ska studios, 2d Souls-like) releasing on PS4 March 15

I hope this turns out well. It looks like a lot of fun from what I've seen. About the only thing I haven't liked is that the coloring is really strange with a kind of bloom effect

Pretty much every streamer has said it looks great in person and not so great streaming. I'm not a huge fan of the art style, but I'll get used to it. I was glad to hear that it's good looking in person.

Their previous games are like that, check them out on YouTube:

I made a game with zombies
The dishwasher
Dishwasher vampire smile
Charlie Murder

That's good to hear

I see what you mean there. This looks way more polished than those

I had to laugh at that VGU review posted earlier that claimed this game had a leveling system a step back from SOTN. Wasn't that "leveling" about as basic as you can get, while this has some crazy huge skill tree?

Just waiting for the midnight unlock. Haven't been this excited for a game since Bloodborne. Can't wait to dive into the grim beautiful world!

I feel like I'll buy this if it reviews well, I'm not super hyped for it but it has my interest and it's pretty cheap.

Sorry but does anyone else feel like this isn't really "Souls-like?"

And as an aside I hate when indie games are compared to big famous ones.

There are so many ideas directly lifted from Souls games that it's hard to not call it that. There are definitely ideas from other places mixed into it (Castlevania etc) but it is easy to see that they have tried to pay homage to the Souls series with this.

Yeah I was just joshing because of what was written in the OP

it's metroidvania action but jesus everything else idea wise is directly taken straight from Souls, if some people are refusing to see that they are being really obtuse when everybody else can see it.

Played up till the second boss. Tough game. Loving it though. Parry and riposte is so satisfying. Found a bad ass greatsword. Leveled it up to level 2 and destroyed her. Have no idea where to go but must be doing something right lol.

It's as souls like as you can expect. From covenants to renewable health flasks. Scaling of weapons. Everything is straight from souls. It os glorious.

This has disappeared for me totally from the PSN store as I was in the process of buying it.

Yeah, pretty much this. I forgot about preloading it earlier and now I guess I get charged more or whatever. However, I can't back into it any way shape or form.

Edit : It's up now

Time to die....

This is gonna come off as a weird complaint, but is anyone else bothered by the annoying foot step sound? It seems its louder than it should be.

Already ran into a bug right at the start enemy became unattackable and I couldn't block their attacks.

I didn't expect the massive spiderweb talent tree.
