For all 3-4 people that are still looking forward to this like I am. They tried literally everything they could do to kill this game online. No rollback netcode, Stadia exclusivity, then EGS exclusivity, and if KoFXIV is any indication, they're probably going to try to charge 59.99 for this 3 years after release.

That said, don't care, I love this series and have waited patiently and will buy it.

I was really looking forward to this last year, but with no Cross play nor Rollback netcode I'm not sure I'd bother unless they offer an entire package at an attractive price

I bought it on sale on Xbox and regret it. The online is dead. And the netcode is shit if you happen to find a match.

I played Strive beta and while SS is more my jam I can recommend Strive based on the netcode alone.

As far as Samurai Shodown, I'm good to go with the collection of classic games that came out on Steam not all that long ago. Having fun with Samurai Shodown V Perfect.

I will buy this, but likely not Day 1. I don't care about the netcode issue since these days I practically just play against the CPU. Still sucks for those that want to play online competitively though.

So I ended up buying both Strive and SS, and I've had twice as much fun already with SS as I did Strive. So many awesome little details in the game with character animations, the blood on the clothes/skin, the UI and menu systems, etc. I'm just going through and trying all of the characters for now, but everybody so far has fun movesets with a ton of character, matches that are the perfect length. You can tell a lot of love went into the game, which is an absolute shame with how it was released and handled for the past few years. I haven't gone online yet, it's been about 10 years since I touched a SS game, but I look forward to trying it out despite the warnings of bad netcode. I bought the Kiwami pack and am very pleased with the value considering the shitload of characters available.

Loving this so far and am glad I waited all this time to get it on Steam.
