So how much like returnal is this? I've read its basically the same thing as returnal with some tweaks.

Fuck .. you're right... they just cant help thenselfs even in this kind of games. How about some simple hero story, it would be really nice.
Wouldn't be so quick to trust reviewers on these "story analysis"

I dont think this kind of game needs some deep story ... its an arcade game with gameplay as it focus ... why dont keep it simple ? When videogame devs started thinking they are all oscar worthy writers things really went to shit, specially since most Sony studios are ridden with the bad purple virus.

Anyway you may be right .. I've seen multiple stances when these people find "sexuality issues" when really there aren't none.

Wow, this year has legitimately been one great game after another.

This is such a nice change of pace after last year, where almost every game seemed to be a source of discourse and controversy.

This year it's like, "Hey, you know that game you were expecting to be pretty good? Well, it's actually great."

If you played Returnal you wouldn't say that.
The narrative in Returnal was absolutely stellar, intelligent, impactful, and left a lasting impression.

Fairly evidently Saros replaces the Greek Myths/Tragedies and all their familial aspects as the thematic binding, with something inspired by Robert W. Chambers' The King In Yellow. A loose collection of short stories and poems that should allow for inspiration across multiple character threads.

Its a smaller canon with only 4 pieces from the collection considered classical examples of weird fiction, but that's likely going to be more than enough for a game,

Yeah, pretty much what i meant. I was researching a game (promise mascot agency) and i've seen reviewers saying the protagonist was a trans man. After further research, it was total bullshit and they only said that because in some interview the devs commented how they briefly considered making the protagonist a woman.

Another "rogue-like" game, as if the industry didn't have enough of them already..

Yeah I'm with you on this, keep everything identical in Saros, but remove the loot-based roguelite elements, but make it a short campaign to replay over and over again on higher and higher difficulties would have been a better game. Housemarque is famous for being the only AAA developer doing arcade-style gameplay, and I think the roguelite elements are polluting that arcade design philosophy.

This will be PS5 exclusive right?
No chance it will come to PC?
Putting aside all the console warring, it is hard to tell since sony is in this "neither confirm nor deny" phase.

Personally i think the vagueness is on purpose and mostly a tactic to led people into buying priced-up ps5s amidst the fallout of the ram crisis. My guess is they'll resume ports once prices go down again.

Returnal had a very good plot and character. This one is something something Hindu or middle eastern religious looking creatures with future guy shooting stuff. I'm going to buy it, but that's about where I'm at with caring about the plot.

I played returnal to completion, and again the story did nothing for me, cant barely remember, cant even say if its bad or good because its just meh, like I said this kind of action packed games imho can have a minimalist hero story, a convoluted fugly middle-aged woman with mental issues story does fuck all for me.

I Really dont go play shooters expecting to go through mental health studies.

For comparison, Returnal sold around half of what GOW18 did on PC alone. If Saros will be any similar, it'll be hardly something their accountants care much about either way.
yea, so its ok if the game not coming to PC, nothing is lost for PC anyway

The gameplay seems easier and the story seems worse. I loved Returnal's story. This game doesn't sees like it's going to capture that same magic but we'll see of course. I'll still have fun at the end of the day of course.

I didn't like Returnal, so I don't really have any plans on getting this. But it is still good to see the game turn out this way. More banger games is always good. Great year for gaming overall so far.
