Just a quick glance, I didn't see this posted yet, so...
ArtsyOmni (of the Smashified series) and Etika (of Etika World Network) have launched a TeeSpring campaign for a shirt based on the artwork Omni created shortly after Iwata's passing. 50% of their proceeds are going to the Child's Play and the other 50% to cancer research (undecided which charity at this time; they're asking for suggestions in the comments of their Youtube video detailing the campaign.) The campaign is active for 9 days and as of right now, there are no plans to continue it beyond this, so you'll be unable to order a shirt after this time period.
T-shirt comes in a black or blue variety and looks like this:

Does anyone have a YouTube link for the Gamespot video?
I'm currently abroad and the wifi isn't that great and it won't load the GS website.
Thank you.
This is the best thing I've ever seen GameSpot put out.
Why hasn't the GAF logo been updated??
Let's not start this again.

Man, a week later and this still just has me in a state of shock.
Seems completely surreal.
I don't know many people in his position who would willingly take a salary cut to limit layoffs within his company and not many have the courage to take accountability for their company's shortcomings or mistakes. Out of all his amazing accomplishments, his character stands out to me the most.
Don't you think it was more an attempt to appease shareholders in order to not lose his job?
Actually, shareholders wanted active corporate restructuring and layoffs to offset financial losses. Cutting his pay in half and allowing other board members to cut off a quarter of their share was a choice he made.

I more meant that a shareholder's meeting back in 2013 at least one shareholder essentially asked why haven't they restructured less essential departments and lay off non-essential workers.
Iwata said:Regarding why we have not reduced the number of the personnel, it is true that our business has its ups and downs every few years, and of course, our ideal situation is to make a profit even in the low periods, return these profits to investors and maintain a high share price. I believe we should continue working toward this ideal. If we reduce the number of employees for better short-term financial results, however, employee morale will decrease, and I sincerely doubt employees who fear that they may be laid off will be able to develop software titles that could impress people around the world. I believe we can become profitable with the current business structure in consideration of exchange rate trends and popularization of our platforms in the future. We should of course cut unnecessary costs and pursue efficient business operations. I also know that some employers publicize their restructuring plan to improve their financial performance by letting a number of their employees go, but at Nintendo, employees make valuable contributions in their respective fields, so I believe that laying off a group of employees will not help to strengthen Nintendos business in the long run. Our current policy is to achieve favorable results by continuously cutting unnecessary expenses and increasing business efficiency. Thank you for listening.
Oh my god....that's him...in that casket....I just cant believe he is in a casket....
This is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.Excuse me for posting a lot of pictures... I have muuuch more...but we had a little thing in Ecuador to honor Mr. Iwata. Strong wind and rain were our enemies but still a lot of people showed up anyway and I felt so proud.
It was amazing that in this little country that many of you may not even know about its existence, has a lot of Nintendo fans that respected and loved Iwata so much.
