Just remembered SNL was premiering and tuned in to a surprisingly good Miley performance and now I'm confused.

EDIT: Oh, no one else liked it? Maybe Im just judging by SNL standards of musical performances which is a very low bar.

I'm happy to see some Leslie Jones hate in this thread.

She brings down the entire show, the entire cast, to me. I can't quite put into words just how much I dislike her, and always have. She is the only reason I really fear for the new Ghostbusters movie.

That said, other than Miley, I have a small bit of hope for this season. The writing wasn't TOO awful tonight, and I laughed a handful of times. Now lets build on that, please.

Absolute ditto. She's def the potential weak link in Ghostbusters*. Maybe Lorne is losing his hearing in his old age and she was the only person in her audition group he could hear.

She was pretty great in top five though. That whole scene with the people in the apartment was amazing. Could have watched 2 hours of that alone

I remember thinking she was funny on Weekend Update once. So she got on my radar. Then, every time she was involved in a sketch, she fucked it up completely. Every single time. At this point, it's easier to name a sketch where she didn't fuck up one or more of her lines than it is to point out how many times she's fucked up.

Leslie is great. Her stand up is well worth a look at well.
She constantly flubs lines, ruining sketches, and has one talent (which isn't interesting or unique): yelling loudly. That's her only character: Person Who Yells Loudly About Whatever. It isn't funny; at best it's grating and at worst it's migraine-inducing. She might be one of the worst players in SNL's history.

This has to be sarcasm. "Great" shouldn't apply to a cast regular who consistently screws up her own lines and causes guests to screw up theirs with her shitty timing. A comedian with shitty timing. Bad combo.

I liked that performance actually. She has a great voice.

I couldn't agree more.

Also, I thought this was a weak premier. None pf the sketches were particularly funny. And The Millenials was shit compared to the Californians.

And if I'm not mistaken, the opening montage is the exact same as last year. Added to it that only one cast member is new and it felt like a left over episode from last season instead of the start of a brand new one.

Not at all. I don't think she is the best SNL cast member. I also don't think her writing has been nearly diverse enough on the program either along with the females largely taking over the program of late. I think that is the worst combo.

I haven't gotten to watch it yet, but if it is that bad when compared to The Californians, it must be "worst in history"-level because The Californians was absolute trash.

Yeah I couldn't stand the Californians , thought the millenniums was pretty funny though.

I thought it was a really weird choice to put a documentary about millennials in the middle of a comedy show, but it was definitely interesting.

To each their own. I didn't like Californians at first either, but over time it got me. Armisen, Wiig and Hader killed me. "Stewwwaarrt?.

It's on! Amy Schumer is hosting!

This episode is getting off to a great start. /s

Please hand the whole episode to Schumer.

And please stop shoving Kate McKinnon down our throats.
