Saw X hits theaters on September 29, 2023
Set between the events of Saw and Saw II, a sick and desperate John Kramer travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer — only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged and ingenious traps.
For those who care, this trailer also shows the series is returning to presenting at 1.85:1.

Saw 1.5? Lmfao I'm dead.

I think this is about the only way they could do another one with Kramer. Nobody gave a shit about the new spin offs they tried to do.

This could be...maybe... quite good? A proper Saw movie set between 1 and 2 might well work as a standalone, if nothing else.

Looks fantastic IMO. Tobin Bell is a legend. Also looking forward to Spiral 2...which will be made as a TV series lol.

The series that's had exactly one great movie, and yet, I'm so compelled to watch them all anyway. I'm in and it'll be delicious garbage.

I really liked Saw 1 & 2 back in the day, but I don't have the stomach for these movies anymore. Enjoy, for all you gorehounds out there.

That Chris Rock spin-off premise and cast looked interesting, and I was going to check it out, but I gathered that the execution was lacking. Too bad, as that was a good idea in theory.

I loved Spiral, it might've been my favorite in the series.

The Saw movies have by and large been one thing: consistent. It's garbage, but it's very well made garbage, with some genuinely interesting twists in a few of the films.

There are TEN Saw movies?? I don't think I've seen past 3 or 4, but I've generally enjoyed them. It's sort of like eating a Twinkie... Sure they're cheap, manufactured garbage, but every couple years I crave one and it totally hits the spot.

For me, it's cool that it takes place between Saw 1 and 2, since those are really the only ones I remember anyway. I think I'll go see this.

5 is average, 6 is genuinely good, 7 is poor, 8 is okay, 9 is poor. Probably worth at least getting to 7 for the end of the main story.

It's not even well made

Considering the first movie had an extremely tight shooting schedule, I'd say it's well made given its circumstances. The whole cast could only get a couple of takes per scene, they had that little time and money.

It's like if a five year old made a McDonald's cheeseburger by themselves. Sure, McD's burgers are nowhere near the best for restaurant burgers, but given the circumstances, I'd say a little recognition is due.

Gave me a headache

Not a bad trailer, and it's the most honest interest I've had in wanting to watch a Saw film in a long time (I checked out of the series after Saw III).

The trailer makes it actually look ok.
It's been a while since we've had a good Saw and I'm ready for it to happen.
I liked jigsaw and spiral, they were leagues better than the comedy that is Saw 3D (I'm sorry it was, I've never laughed so hard at a movie, it could've been directed by Tommy Wiseau) and got away from the torture porn it was turning into. But you're right, I think the last truly "good" saw that was more than just popcorn flick material was 3 or 4. At this point saw and scream are in the same boat as horror franchises go in my book

I do agree with that actually. I quite liked Spiral though it was going for something different.

Scream on the other hand I have a huge soft spot for.

2's twist is genuinely excellent. Probably the best in the whole series..

I've only seen the first two, so I can't comment on all of them obviously, but I preferred the first movie's twist. The second movie's twist was good, but as soon as Jigsaw told the detective, "the rules are very simple. All you have to do is talk to me. Do that and I promise your son will be delivered to you safely", I figured out what was going on. The first movie's twist on the other hand blindsided me hard.

Mind you, I'm not good at guessing correctly on twists or reveals. Like, since the Scream movies were brought up, only the 5th film was the one I was able to guess who all the killers were going to be.

Saw is expected every year like scream now.
It used to be annual! But I'd be surprised if they did that again. The Conjuring Universe is almost annual, I guess Saw could do it if they wanted.

This is in the same category for me as the final destination movies, hot garbage that I can't look away from. So I will be watching this for sure.

I can't see myself seeing this Saw like I saw Saw 2. I saw Saw 2 two times more than I saw Saw, and the later Saw's seen ratio has teeter tottered for me.
