Post credit scene will reveal Fred is Fred Flinstone's descendant.

Nah. Right at the end, they've caught the criminal, but due to some of the antics along the way, Shaggy's got into trouble, and might have to break from the gang.

Post-credits is a visit from his attorney, a Mr. Birdman.

Yeah it's strange that they say they wanna make a cohesive universe when that's like... exactly what the Hanna Barbera universe already is?

Granted I'm drawing a blank on the animal characters crossing over with the humans, but off the top of my head:

Flinstones and Jetsons (since their time/eras are so removed from everything else it kinda makes sense they haven't crossed over with anyone else)

Scooby-Doo, Jabber Jaw, DynoMutt, that dune buggy, Harlem Globetrotters, Gilligan's Island, Batman, and Jose and the Pussycats have all crossed over

Yogi Bear, QuickDraw, Snagglepuss, Oggy Doggy and his Doggy Daddy, Huckleberry Hound, Wally Gator, Dick Dastardly and Mugly, etc have all crossed over

That said I'm all about this, I love the Hanna Barbara characters and worlds. I've been wanting them to actually use their library of characters for a while now, hopefully this goes beyond just Scooby and the couple others mentioned in the OP.

Cervone directed Abracadabra-Doo, which I don't remember seeing. He also produced that one, along with the 4 Direct to videos after it, including Camp Scare.

Jabber Jaw feature length would be great

NO RESPECT!!!

You just made me realize how odd it was that characters like Jabberjaw, Fred Flintstone, Yogi bear, etc are basically characterizations of actors who were alive at the time. But they weren't voiced by those actors.

It would be like someone having a new cartoon character who sounded like Seth Rogen or Paul Rudd but wasn't them.

Dunno if you'd regard it as canonical, but I had a Yogi & Friends Christmas Book when I was a kid, and there was an arc story about a character (I forget who, maybe the Great Gazoo?) trying to gather a bunch of Yogi's friends together for a Christmas party, and I think that included the Flintstones and maybe the Jetsons.

It's been so long since I read it I can't be certain.

Edit: Thinking about it, actually, I think the Flintstones might have been the framing party (with a storyline about Fred having forgotten to send invites?). I do remember a Quickdraw McGraw strip about confusing "Comestibles" and "Combustibles"

Edit2: It's coming back to me! It was Santa gathering the friends, of course it was.

Uncle Grandpa is basically Seth Rogen

but yeah, you're basically right. a lot of the newer stuff was based on toys/marketability for toys, so there's a lot less of those "cartoons based on actors" thing. from there it veered into using it as a way to convey fantasy settings and diversification into the "nicktoons" style of cartoons that covers a wide range of genres

2 stupid dogs?

they didn't solve mysteries.

i think he is thinking of one of the scooby doo offshoots. he had a cousin named Scooby-Dum (the gray dog in one of the pictures above) and Scrappy Doo came along with Scooby and Shaggy and solved mysteries

What was the name of that cartoon with 2 redneck dogs solved mysties with a group of kids?

the 13 ghosts of scooby doo was always my favorite take on it.

Scooby Doo Meets the Boo Brothers was my favorite feature length. I watched it probably at least 30 times. i loved the treasure hunting and the clues and stuff

I'm okay with this. At least the movies will be animated.

Hello McFly

Oh I know about that. I listed the three groups of HB characters I was aware of crossing ove: Jetsons and Flinstones being the first, the Scooby gang being the second, and the animal pals being he third. Sorry that wasn't clear!

I meant that their times/eras made it unlikely for them to cross over with the others groups. It's one thing to have the Jetsons travel back in time, but I would never expect the Flinstones to show up in Yogi Bear or Scooby-Doo because "canonically" they predate them by millions of years. And it's been a while since seeing it but I seem to recall the Jetsons being able to time travel being some kind of fluke or accident? Hence why they didn't travel back in time to cross over with other characters more often.

Umm, this may be a ridiculous question but is that a Hearthstone title?

Everyone, get in here = Grim Patron
Ha HA = that wizard guy that makes fireballs whenever you cast a spell

If no one knows what I am talking about, please ignore me. Thank you.

Love the title change. Now I want a Harvey Birdman movie. A Hanna Barberra cinematic universe could be neat. Isn't there supposed to be a Johnny Quest movie in the works?

Fred was suppose to invite the rest of the HB universe to a Christmas party but lost the envelopes while doing some charity stuff. Santa ran across them and decided to deliver them and bring the guests back right as Fred was trying to tell Wilma how he screwed up. Believe it or not I actually still have it and re-read it every couple of years.

Oh and regarding a Hong Kong Phooey movie

I can't remember which movie it was, but they implied that the people who liked the serious nature of Mystery Incorporated were neck bearded basement dwellers.

It was probably the Frankencreepy one that did it. I forgot the other movie that took a shot at fans of Mystery Inc.

Damn shame they haven't realized that's the best Scooby shit they've put out since Zombie Island and the show before it.

But I'm not a Scooby-Doo fan to begin with, so what do I know?

you think execs are looking at the stupid money Marvel is making with their cinematic universe and are just going to look the other way? hit people competently right in their childhood, soak up that nostalgia, make new fans in the process...you're touching every demographic and lining yourself up for money down the road too.

It's really a no brainer as long as you can do it correctly.

Okay fine, so who's the Thanos of the HB Universe that Scooby, Jabberjaw, Captain Caveman, Josie, and Space Ghost will have to band together and face for the sake of mankind, but will build up for for 15 years?
