Hopefully this with be better then the last one.
While it was okay too many people survived last time and I wasn't a fan of the new cast as they just couldn't carry the film.
This having Hayden Panettiere in it gives me hope unless she's returning just to be killed off

It feels weird without Sidney Prescott but I'm looking forward to it still. Scream 5 really surpassed my expectations, I wasn't expecting a lot from it honestly but it was a very fun time with some cool kills. They did a good job blending the old/modern feel. Hayden being back is awesome, Kirby in Scream 4 was my favourite.

I will say New York is a weird setting to see Ghostface in. But it'll be interesting to see how that plays out more in the open. Certainly a fresh approach for the series.

They need to cut back and make it a straight slasher film again, THAT would be subverting expectations.

I've always enjoyed the Scream movies. New York is an interesting change.
Though I do hope this one, as J jason10mm said, is more of a straight up slasher.

I loved 5, and I actually enjoyed the new cast a lot, especially Tara and the twins. NY is basically a slasher franchise staple at this point lol. Next up! SPACE!

3/4 of the movie takes place on a boat cruise that somehow starts on a small lake, then ends up in New York, where Toronto is standing in for New York during most of it.

Well, the funny thing was the killers in 5 ended up killing the same amount of people Billy and Stu killed in 1. Which was fitting since they were obsessed with the events of 1 in particular. So it almost felt like fate was assuring they got the same kill count given quite a few characters in 5 survived some pretty nasty injuries.

But I liked the new main girl and her sister played by Jenna Ortega fine enough. But yeah, Hayden returning will be great. She was the only good newly introduced character in 4 besides Sydney’s cousin. The new cast in 5 weren’t the best, but they were still better than most of the new characters in 4, god they were boring as fuck. Hell, 5 also made that one policewoman tolerable, she was also annoying in 4.

Honestly, if it weren’t for what happened to Dewey which practically forced her to show up, 5’s plot felt like it could have worked fine without her. Given that Ghostface is always different people, this isn’t like Halloween where it would feel weird to have an entry without Laurie, a relative of hers, and/or Loomis since they’re the most connected to Michael (one of many reasons Halloween Resurrection was so shit, Michael is facing nothing but randos).

Which means they must use footage of the old films in this, so more then likely this is still about Sydney
Also cool details from on set photos
The Ghostface mask the killer uses is older mask and it in good condition and the robe is the the first film.
But multiple masks and robes from the Stab movies are in this too at a cinema on display soo..

Also there is very little sense for a new killer to go after the sisters unless Gale Weathers fucked up with making sure the truth and identities are covered up like she said she would at the end of SCREAM(2022) and it is well known like it was with Sydney.

They shot most of this in Montreal, so we're almost there! Maybe 3/4 of the movie takes place in that subway car lol.
