He deserves to be paid up there with Flacco and Rodgers. People act like he's a mediocre QB. He may not put up elite stats, but he wins and commands that offense. Not to mention he's played in back-to-back Super Bowls, winning once and coming within a stupid coaching decision to winning 2.

I don't know about Rodgers, but Flacco's deal is stupid.

Nah, just kidding, but that is a tough group to break into in my experience, and everyone seems to know each other which just prompts 1-liners between folks and honestly I haven't ever really gotten responses to anything I post in there. It's fine for it to be that way, but that's at least the way I see it.

You should post more. As long as you are not a Pats fan you are in good shape. Only European Pats fans are welcomed with open arms.

Actually if you go in there and exclaim your hatred for all things Patriots you would be instant accepted
 
I had no doubt a deal would get done, but the process was very frustrating.

I hope he's worth it. And I hope Kam Chancellor stops being a baby and holding out.

..and I hope we can keep bobby wagner. I'm glad this deal got done before the big cap raise next year.
 
thats a good deal, but to keep him Seattle was going to pay around that much in big chunks with franchising him or with some leeway in a contract so probably best for both parties. Good for him gotta make what you can , cause you will get cut when you can't keep up anymore.

I agree but throwing in the middle that deep in the red zone is a terrible play that cost Arizona a Super Bowl as well. Why do coaches want to throw in traffic? That play makes more sense midfield where the defense will spread out.
 
I haven't seen that angle before. Mainly due to the searing pain in my heart. But that was a hell of an interception. Still the wrong play, but I have abetter understanding about what happened.

Good for Russell on his deal!

Unlike the NBA, I think we overvalue players in the NFL. Even Brady would not have won the Super Bowl without that great defense. People think that a QB is the engine for the team. In reality, he is just a conveyer belt that works well if he other talented parts.

I'd argue that Manning, Marino, Luck, and Rodgers are a rare class that make up for deficiencies on the other parts of their teams. Montana, Brady, and Wilson are very good but I believe they succeed better in a good system rather than being the one who can play in any system.

What's the over/under that Bobby Wagner gets resigned? I think he goes to free agency and gets a massive deal somewhere else (better than Clay Matthews money).

you're not being fully honest or don't know the rules of the sport. You cannot change the receivers route in making a play for the ball, if you could then CB's would just jump routes over the back all day without fear. The receiver is clocked out of the way, its close like i said but that is PI going by the book. The up in the air is for when they are both under the ball and going for it, otherwise you knock a receiver off his route and your flagged or Rodney Harrison.

Everything I've read seems to suggest that Seattle will be in position to franchise wagner next season if nothing gets done. Assuming he plays well this year.

Irvin is gone for sure though.

They'll make him a decent offer, but probably not a record-breaking one. Whether he takes it or not is up to him.

Wrong wrong wrong.

In the NFL, the defender may make continuous contact with receiver within the first five yards of the line of scrimmage. Anything after that is penalized as illegal contact. Pass interference is called if the defensive player contacts the offensive player while he is trying to catch the pass, unless the defender has turned his head to face the oncoming pass and is attempting to intercept it. Accidental, glancing contact is not penalized.
