Season's Beatings: Ascension | Fighting Game Tournament | Sep 28-30 2012

Also, will Combofiend be there?

I want to use this during the week-end.

andre has dropped the most combo out of all the known players. But you know what? He is a consistent top 8 placer in majors.

His overall level of play is solid. He makes retarded choices once in awhile but who doesn't (thats not the S Tier players).

Chris G doesn't practice with Hak. I don't even think he practices, he just goes to 4 weeklies bro. FOUR WEEKLIES.

Four weeklies is ridiculous. I'm too lazy to go to one.

Yea he's top 8 because he helps makes the bracket. Consistent my ass... consistent at crying until he gets floated. Oh shit was I not suppose to say that? Andre is mid tier at best. I'll take all 16 of the NorCal/SoCal after shock team over Andre. And then I'll take the 10 guys that didn't even make the NorCal/SoCal team over Andre.

Even if you get floated, you still have to play people.

Also the people chosen for aftershock are solid players as well (minus CJ). So getting beaten by them doesn't say much.

I would take everyone over Andre except Cj. The match isn't to decide if Andre is a top Marvel player but whether he is better than Cj.

I like how most of the discussion is on the worst exhibition match...

WesternHeretic's WC bias for every match ever is so blatant at this point I'm not sure why you guys bother. :P

It is only because he has to play the top people. If CJ was from the east coast people would rate him up as high as Yipes and Chris G are supposed to be.

That is horse shit. I have seen cj play against a multitude of players of various skill types. He has lost to pretty much everyone. People would talk smack about cj in the ec same way they talk smack about Andre.

Alright that's it... avatar bet 2 months. Loser has to wear the avatar of the winning player declaring him da best. If I lose I would wear cj avatar and never talk smack about him, even in sarcasm. Any takers?

Andre isn't that bad of a player, he did eliminate RayRay at Summer Jam. I bet that if he met the 16 aftershock players in a major outside of Cali he'll beat at least half of them. He'll probably beat guys like KBeast, GC Yoshi and Honzo Gonzo who are prone to choking in majors, won't be surprise to see him beat Clockw0rk or even Combofiend too considering that they are obviously not taking this game very seriously. But yeah he does well in majors mostly because he goes to a lot of majors and doesn't lose his composure when he drops his combos, while others will get bodied after dropping combos. I don't get a feeling that translate well to money matches, which is a different level of pressure.

If he was from east coast people would respect him more. The fact that he's a midwest player constantly trying to break into the NY clique while talking smack about fellow midwest players is a big source of why everyone hates him.

I'm in there.

That is more like it, this is FGC GAF, lets hype it up.

Got all my shit set up, speedtest.net tells me I have 6-7Mbps upload, yet the connection to Twitch is ass.

Uggh, I do love me some Season's Beatings. Up there with Final Round as my most looked-forward-to non-EVO major.

Champ over ChrisG! Let's say.. 15-8. Set will start out close, Champ will get some consecutive wins middle-set, ChrisG will lose his focus and finish weakly.

Best of luck to you 645!

Pre-regs for several other games are up now it seems, here are the numbers so far

UMVC3 120
SSF4AE 141
MK9 26
P4A 72
SCV 17

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgvtE16gzf2ZdEpNVzNXTUtYUnZ0Y0FJckdzZ2g0UGc#gid=5

Still no sign of a few others like TTT2 or KOFXIII. This doesn't count last second sign ups so all these games should receive a decent boost. P4A may get over 100, I doubt SF4 or Marvel will reach 200 though. Which is kind of disappointing because SF4 had close to 300 the year before. But still, it should be a great turn out and tournament overall.

Updated OP with SSF4AE pool assignment and 645's stream link.

Also added Team Sp00ky link for those who live under a rock...

Last second sign ups are always the great boost. I would estimate at least a 30% addition to all currently known numbers for all games.

Who do you have on your pool? Still rocking dat Task/Felicia/Hawkeye team?
FChamp, Flux, KBeast, Toomuchdamage (who I play all the time), some guy from WV I know and am rooming with... I'm trying to get my pool assignment changed. I don't mind playing killers early but flying halfway across the country to play people you meet up with all the time is stupid.

Team's the same, though I'm using Hawkeye's vertical assist against Zero players now.

If Justin's not going, does that mean Floe isn't going either? In either case, doesn't that kinda fuck up the EG exhibition?
This is what I was thinking.

If they don't do that exhibition and the USA vs World is a dud ... then that might force their hand to do a EC vs WC set. Justin Wong not being there actually makes it easier to pick.
