In the last episode, Mulder was effectively put on trial before some sort of govt/military group. This allowed for them to do basically a full on hour of pure exposition, attempting to tie everything that had happened in the series together. Poorly. Then there was like a 20 minute chase sequence and the cigarette smoking man got blown up by a missle. It was terrible.

At least we got to see the Lone Gunmen one last time. Now that was an episode (
the one where they all died
) that was pointless.

X-files used to be a tradition in our house, atleast at my dad's place. Every night it was on, repeat or not, we watched it.

Turn on the TV... it's ****ING X-FILES!!!!

Ugh!! Don't remind me! Why you got to that to them man?! The Lone Gunmen deserved better!! When I saw them, a brief moment, I thought that previous episode was just some crazy cover-up to make you think it happened...but alas it wasn't and I was sad again.

Man, the last episodes bummed me the hell out.

Remember the spin off? :lol

They brought them back just to
die. Sent to die, if you will! :(

A standalone "monster of the week" style movie is the only way to go for another X-Files film, considering the total convoluted mess the entire mythology became. I'm happy to hear that the creators realise this.

Your summary of the final makes me sad White Man. I can't believe this once masterful show ended with a glorified clip show. :(

That episode was hilariously bad, but then again it seemed purposefully so. It was named Jump the Shark afterall. I still don't quite understand the rationale behind
killing them off
in an episode that was so obviously written to be hokey and for little to no purpose. Just awful.

The 6th season was the last X-Files season, I don't know what you people are talking about.

The seasons with Dogget and Reyes were pretty good, taken by their own merits. The stand alone episodes were good, at least. Unfortunately, by that point, even with a good new cast, there was too much past baggage to make it float very long.
