It would be up for debate even if there were no protests. That building is situated in among urban sprawl which could make it an easy target. Most presidents don't set up a permanent shop in a place like that.

When Obama visits NYC, traffic stretched for miiiiiles. You could be 10 miles away in Douglaston Queens...and there was traffic all day because you simply couldn't go anywhere near Manhattan. The congestion was that awful. This is going to be a fucking nightmare for New Yorkers. And I'm glad to no longer be there.
