If you feel like going out to the movies, Kung Fu Hustle and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy are quality entertainment waiting to happen.
For video, I recently watched the Criterion DVD release of Hopscotch (1980) staring Walter Matthau and Glenda Jackson.
I have the feeling I've raved about this on here before, so I won't go into too much detail. Suffice to say it's an extremely funny spy comedy that doesn't devolve into the slapstick of, say, Our Man Flint or Austin Powers. Walter Matthau is a CIA field agent whose asshole boss (Ned Beatty) has just busted him down to a desk job. Matthau takes this as his cue to retire, goes to Austria to meet up with ex-agent and current lover Jackson, and proceeds to write his memoirs - hiis scandalous, chock full 'o top secret info, highly embarrassing tell-all memoirs that he's mailing to all the major governments one chapter at a time. Cue Matthau leading hapless CIA agents (including his young protege, played by Sam Watterson) on a wild goose chase, with a hearty dash of fun romance thrown in; he and Jackson have terrific chemistry.
I had no idea what to expect going in, but Hopscotch turned out to be absolutely terrific. Highly recommended!
