NIS America Tell Us About Their European Publishing Arrangement With Atlus
It was already fixed (see EO4 & Soul Hackers).
Btw this is how Bloomberg describes Atlus for laughs: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-...on-to-buy-bankrupt-japan-gamemaker-index.html
I cannot think of a single Japanese company that would actually be a better choice to purchase Index. At best Namco, and that's more of a lateral move than anything else.
where is my Grandia IV.
...Sega(and by association Sega-Sammy) is such a shit company right now, they are either doing smartphone shit or PC shit I don't care about.
I still maintain Gungho would've been a good choice, but overall, yeah, Sega was relatively near the top of the list.
Well, I guess five or six months after the US is "fixed" compared to "a year, year and a half later, if you get it at all."
Smt 1 and 2 already are!Sonic as recruitable demon in SMT5 confirmed.
Valkyrie Chronicles was one of the best games of this gen, so I don't know...maybe they'll just let Atlus/Index do its thing. If this means they'll bring the SMT and Persona series to iOS with English localization, I'm okay with that. I wanna believe...
What ips do they have that matter again?
Shin Megami
Persona
Etrian Odyssey
Trauma Center
Ogre Battle
The latter two are retired anyhow. Anything else?

Persona is all that matters.
Smt 1 and 2 already are!
So it's a deal with SEGA and not SEGA Sammy.
This is unfair, NISA wasn't directly involved, they were pretty fast with EO4 and Soul Hackers once they had the premission to work with it. Their first real test was yet to come.Well, I guess five or six months after the US is "fixed" compared to "a year, year and a half later, if you get it at all."
Skies of Arcadia 2 developed by Atlus. Hopefully in a region free system.
Really worried about future Atlus games in the west. I hoped anybody but sega bought them, let's hope for the best...
Persona is all that matters.
Jeff Gerstmann said:Is Sega really getting Atlus? Guess that means we'll see a Persona RTS for PC and no other English releases ever again, right?
My stance on it is that in cases of SEGA acquiring other companies, they have worked with them as opposed to buckling them down like some here seem to be under the impression of. Platinum Games, Relic, etc.
I thought this outcome was coming as SEGA already published Atlus games in Japan, and happen to have a lot of money and a thing for quirky niche titles, so not entirely too surprising.
I guess I should of seen the response coming though. Too many people are stuck on mid-2000s SEGA output and despite drastically improving their output and efforts in the last 6 years, too many people stick to their pre-established opinions on things. As Atlus already has a translation division and SEGA in every other acquisition has worked with the company to take advantage of strengths and ideals, I think too many are jumping the gun on this.
hopefully all those employees of Atlus USA will find a good job somewhere else.
RIP

But those are pure SEGA brands. Platinum Games titles never sold well but every one was translated since Platinum had their own translation branch, is partially what I'm saying. With Phantasy Star Online 2 being in the position it currently is, as well as the Yakuza situation, to say Atlus fans have no reason to worry is silly.
Again, this is why I'm waiting to see what becomes of Atlus USA before I start worrying. If they go as part of the restructuring because Sega Sammy doesn't think they need yet another localization branch, we in trouble.
Sammy officially denying the Nikkei report about the Index Holdings purchase:
http://www.segasammy.co.jp/japanese/ir/what/whatsnew.do?recid=2270
The SMT series has proven popular and profitable enough in the west to justify nearly every release of its games in the past decade. How would being owned by Sega Sammy change that? With Phantasy Star Online 2 being in the position it currently is, as well as the Yakuza situation, to say Atlus fans have no reason to worry is silly.
They aren't denying, they state they've made 'No announcement.' Be interesting if not true though.
Yes, they have no relation with the announcement as they've made no announcement. However, they also don't deny they've acquired Atlus, they just say they've made no announcement. Are you sure? by 当社グループが発表したものではありません i'm understanding that they don't have any relation with the announcement.
