or that the SNES had the superior shmups
The hell? Someone said this? Only the PC-Engine can compete with Genesis on shmups.
Also, TFIV is the trump card.

I think it is unfair to compare PCE with the Genesis for the genre. Most of the awesome shmups are on CD. Just comparing Hu to Genesie/MD and it is the latter that comes out WAY on top.
Just scanned that thread. Why are you even wasting your time? When you have retards that think Axelay is a good shmup or that the SNES had the superior shmups, it's time to get out before you get infected with the dumb.
i never learn. i never learn.
Oh wow, where do I get these?
Thanks to everyone that encouraged me to go for SOTN emulation.
I had never tried emulation for Saturn before, but SSF works great. Took me a while to figure it out, i wasnt able to virtual mount the image so that SSF recognized the virtual drive so I just burned the image on a CDR and it worked fine. Plays and looks pretty good.
Got my futuristic racing gloves on the other day
I have the US longbox of Wipeout 1 and then the JP Wipeout XL release. I don't care for 1 too much, but I love XL with the analog pad.
Saturn analog pad is such a great controller. Makes me sad @ the huge downgrade between that and the DC controller.
The DC controller sucks, let's be honest.
I always loved the DC controller. Never understood the hate but I have small, fat hands so it melds with my meat mitts perfectly. It's probably not top 5 but I liked it more than the DualShock by a large amount.Bottom 5 for sure. Shit sucks.

Nope. Import Adapter/RAM cart.
Can someone explain what this is?
My only beef with the DC controller is that the dpads can get a little run down. it still has my favorite analog stick though.
Google "Action Replay 4M Plus". There's tons of guides and conversations about it.

I still have no idea why 2097 came out in Europe and Japan, but skipped America entirely.
Also not sure why they added a Daytona USA/Sega Rally-style countdown timer. I very rarely like those.
SaturnGAF, is there a reliable way to get some replacement cases for Saturn games? None of mine have any cracks but some of them are scuffed to hell and back.
MKR is a bit on the easy side, and its shorter (I think it took me 15-20 hrs when I played through it). Its a decent action RPG, though.

Speaking of the Saturn Castlevania (actually called Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight), I've found that not everything in the Saturn version made it to the PSP game. So here's a few exclusive music tracks you'll find in this version:
it's been a few years since I last replaced my Saturn battery.
yesterday I got the screen
are my saves gone?
doesn't the AR4M+ have save backups?
is there any reason to get a separate memory card if you already have one of those?

Hexen comes to mind. You won't need one unless there is a game that ONLY saves to memory cards and doesn't support the battery backup (I can't think of any)
Shining games (the Holy Ark, Force III, Wisdom to a lesser extent), Saturn Bomberman, the Panzer Dragoon trilogy (especially Saga), the Lobotomy FPS trilogy (Powerslave, Quake and Duke Nukem 3D, albeit Powerslave is the only one that isn't technically inferior to the corresponding PC version), the Clockwork Knight games (they're really easy, but I particularly enjoyed the second), Guardian Heroes, Radiant Silvergun (need to be able to import it), Street Fighter Collection (Alpha 2 Gold and Super Street Fighter 2/Turbo, sure), etcSo, my younger sister wants a Saturn after playing Sonic all Stars Racing Transformed.
So besides Nights and Burning Rangers what games do you guys recommend?

Going to be honest, those are some weird Saturn recommendations... To each their own!
Everyone should own Guardian Heroes. Everyone.
EVERYONE.

No. Everyone should buy it on the 360 and leave us Saturn gamers with affordable prices.
