True Corrupted monk, can't kill her :/ I must've died over a 100 times... I can get her to stage 2 but at stage 3 when that centipede comes out of her head I'm all out of healing items.

Anyone got tips on this fight?

Edit: I killed it :D

I know at a certain point in the upgrade path, you can level up your attack power over and over again, to quite high levels. If you are willing, go farm some souls and come back.

Git gud.

I didn't had any problem with corrupted monk, other bosses were harder.

Learn to parry and use the tools according to your play style.

Got clapped by the Black Rooster... I still haven't had the courage to go through that experience again. I've played all of Fromsoftware games to this date and this is the game that I've struggled the most. They did a damn good job.

I feel like a sad sack of shit playing this game compared to souls games. Lord Genichiro Ashina mopped the floor with me over and over again.

Was so embarrassed with this fight. I tried to kill him about 15 times. My son (10 at the time) comes inbthe room and watches me lose about 3 more times. Keeps bugging me to try him and I refused to let him fight him. After losing a couple more times I gave the controller to him. Tell me how he beats him on his first go. He only played a little bit of my file and took down only a couple of other bosses.

There's a shortcut to get to the 3rd stage. You can own that boss with the two easy instant death moves. One at the beginning and then one from the tree branch when the screen turns white. Then when CM is in the 3rd stage. Firecracker, hit, hit, hit, firecracker, hit, hit, hit, rinse and repeat.

You're talking about the True Corrupted Monk and not the CM

Its very straight forward fight, so all I can say is learn how to parry his attacks. when he uses his centipede, dodge step to his back and you get nice opening for your attacks.

That was the only boss I cheesed in that game. You can use some items. I don't remember exactly what it was, maybe dust or something. You can throw it at her and get some hits in. Then just repeat.

You got this far, you can beat the game. (If you have the patience to learn the final boss, that is)

Rolls eyes at Nioh being harder than Sekiro. Lol. Or difficult, period.
What makes Sekiro harder than other FROM games is no way for you to "grind" to level up and get stronger. Sekiro at its core is an action, the only way to get stronger is to get good at its combat system.
Nioh has stupid ass stamina to worry about. Sekiro doesn't.
Sekior might not have stamina but it has posture, which some bosses can easily destroy your posture if you don't know how time your parry.

Corrupted Monk... I think you can effectively assassinate her first form, or first health bar without really engaging in combat, right? After that it's no picnic, but that tactic will help.

Also, and I'm sorry to break this to you, there's MUCH harder fights to come. The final boss almost made me quit playing video games but I'm glad I stuck with it and eventually succeeded.

It's useful to think of Sekiro as "what happened when From Software went too far", and that's a critique but not a criticism. Just realize some parts of the game are unapologetically, disgustingly brutal, but rarely cheap or unfair upon close examination. And unlike Dark Souls you can't brute force your way past an obstacle by farming/leveling/summoning.

It's quite sadistic.

You can get a free deathblow on her and take off a bar of her health. When she starts her 2nd phase and begins spawning those three shadow clones, use the grapple hook into the trees. From there, jump into the center of the bridge close to where the boss disappeared to. Get ready for a red deathblow indicator to appear.

I feel you.. This has to be one of the few purchased games I gave up on..

I wish I had done that to Final Fantaxy XII. That way at least I would have saved myself a few hours of my life..

The only Souls like from Miyazaki that I have not completed.
And thats your issue right here, it has some similarities to FROM pervious games but Sekiro is not "Souls" games and it never try to be one.

For me personally Sekiro is one of my favourite FROM games, I have always been melee fighter and all builds I made in pervious Souls games was all about melee fighter.

Sekiro gave me most satisfying melee combat than any other FROM pervious games.

Me playing Sekiro
Man, everytime I see something Sekiro related I remember the satisfying "clang" sounds when parrying and feel the urge to replay it.

Imo Nioh is harder than Sekiro by a wide margin. In Sekiro you can sometimes mash the parry button and get lucky, while Nioh is just brutal. I still prefer Sekiro though.

As others mentioned, the second phase is skippable. You zip up to the branches above the bridge, look down, and you should be able to do a one-hit kill on her. Both the first and third phases are almost identical. Chip away at her and deflect her sweeping combos. They have predictable timing and hit several times in a row. You can use items like firecrackers to get free turns to chip at her health. The mikiri counter is also easy to spot and react to.

I've platinumed both Nioh games and Sekiro (and all Soulsborne games). Sekiro is, by far, the hardest out of all of them.

I keep hearing this, and that's interesting, cause out of all From's games, I had the easiest time with Sekiro (and it wasn't easy). The playstyle is a nice balance of patience and action. I'd even call some boss fights fun.

I believe at the right moment you can get two instant kills on the True Corrupted Monk.... if that is the one I am thinking of!

they patched that. now you can only get one instant kill. but the last health bar is super easy. OP, look up the strategy to quick kill her second health bar, and then use fire on her.

killing her isnt really that hard.

I cant remember if I cheesed him or got good. I do remember justifying the cheese because I knew I would eventually win like the rest, but my heart was into it. I wanted to keep the game moving at that point and face the real evildoers.

Yes! Sekiro's sound effects are the best. I loved jumping on branches for it too.Sekiro was hard, but it never felt impossible. Though I beat Nioh I still feel like fuck that game.

Corrupted monk is a hard one, I found it the be one of the hardest below owl MkII. Good thing I accidentally found the branch for stage 2 monk.

Yeah this is weird. I raped that corrupted monk. Took awhile, but it seemed fair. There is some Elsa ice bitch on Nioh though. Almost made me break the controller.

Same with me. Then I got him to phase 3. He whipped my ass so hard but I made a glorious comeback after switching to rage mode.

Your son just signed himself up for a rigorous esports future

Make him live out the gamer dream your pathetic self could never achieve

I never got past the first big guy.....how sad am I

I love demon souls though....got through first 2 bosses now banging my head against wall on spider boss
