Would you condemn me if I told you I like it more than City and Asylum.

Think the first 2 Max Payne games have a Die Hard esque Christmassy feel to them. Plus they are super upbeat and cheerful for this, the happy family season...

It's a shame that to this day we've never had another Die Hard game released, if they took the latest Indiana game as an inspiration, then that would be the way to go to revive the Die Hard franchise, more so as Bruce Willis won't be back for another movie.

It Takes Two has some pretty cozy snow levels that are very Christmas-y

If you have a kid or SO, give it a try. Is 10-14 hours long but the mechanics of the game are constantly changing and is very intuitive and varied. Played it the Christmas it won GOTY and had a great time!

Pretty easy platinum too.

I think people were mad that the bulk of the outdoor map was copied from City's.
Yeah I get that. Definitely a factor that I could criticize as well.

Strange though in the more modern era that Spiderman Miles Morales did the exact same thing and was near-universally praised.

Tom Clancy’s The Division - I could be wrong but it seems like it was also around Christmas, but to be honest I don't remember it was a long time ago
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake - The events of the game take place on December 24, 1999 which is Christmas Eve, although the game does not focus on this.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales - this is from the last one, there is also a whole episode about it during the plot
Batman: Arkham Origins - naturally, as already noted
Bayonetta 2 - Although there is no exact date, the game starts with her buying gifts and making Enzo carry them around the city for her =)
Yakuza - As was correctly noted, in some parts there are events that take place during Christmas, and if I remember correctly, in part 5 there is a Substory dedicated to this.
The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge - I think comments are not needed here =)

There were a lot of unofficial games on this topic on retro consoles, but that's if you really delve into history.

Context: there is some discussion between Fans of the movie Die Hard if the said movie is a Christmas movie or not, since the movie occurs during a Christmas party.

So this got me thinking, do we have a game that fit that criteria? I think batman Arkham Origins could fit that criteria, but I wonder if there is any game that I'm missing.
If Die Hard is a Christmas movie, here’s some Christmas video game suggestions for you…Bloodborne, Super Mario, and God of War. All three are about as close.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!

Also forgot about the freebies Merry Gear Solid and Merry Gear Solid 2: Ghosts of Christmas Past. Great stuff, shame 3 was cancelled. Though I guess all these 3 are a bit too in your face to fit the theme, Xmas is their point rather than a chance occurrence. Still ace though.

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
Christmas NiGHTS and it’s playable on the Xbox!

I play it every year.
I played it yesterday and, for the first time, it finally clicked with me. NiGHTS is actually a pretty fun game. Definitely requires an analog controller, which I had never used before with it.
