Sengoku Basara 4 Sumeragi First Trailer

MY GUNS ARE ON!

Everything about it seems amazing, I'm all ready to import this. Don't need no Capacom to say no localization here.

I played Samurai Heroes to death, even going through the insane grind to get the Platinum Trophy. Hope the PS4 version means Capcom is considering a western release for this. I'd even settle for a digital, sub-only release if it came to that (though I'd love for the Samurai Heroes cast to return if at all possible.)

Everyone that was playable in Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes is playable in this game.

Yes, everyone from sengoku basara 3 onwards is returning, for a total of 40 playable characters.

Also, it looks like Masamune has multiple unlockable costumes including for the first time a helmetless regular costume

Love the movesets of the new characters.

But it's so strange seeing Capcom make a big deal out of Sengoku Basara's 10th anniversary of all things when they did almost fuck all for Mega Man's 25th anniversary.

Really hope Capcom will localize this one but...
4 and 3 Utage weren't localized, so I don't have any hopes :'(

Yeah, I wouldn't bet on it

The only thing slightly increasing the odds is the fact that it is coming out for PS4 and the rumor is that the won't just be an expansion and will actually contain all of the original SB4 content as well. If there is any final chance for us to get a new Basara in the west, this game would be it.

still wont happen though

I was thinking of the English dub cast. I thought they did a good job and would love to see them return.

This even getting localized will be great in the first place. (Will never happen)

Love the movesets of the new characters.

Basara sells pretty well in Japan. Not so much the games, but all the extra stuff, merchandise, stage plays (they have multiple ones throughout the year).

And this is only just the start of the 10th anniversary celebration somehow.

Hey we got Dengki Bunko anything can happen, build dat list yo.

If Sengoku BASARA 4 came over here at all, it'd be a miraculous thing due to how Capcom would be willing to try a third time with BASARA after already failing TWICE before (re: Devil Kings, Samurai Heroes).

Stranger things have happened, but I think BASARA's fate is sealed.

Anyway, love the new characters and it looks like the gameplay enhancements (more aerial attacks) are looking great. Between this and DMC4:SE, the action junkie gamer in me should be a very happy camper this summer.

No Hōjō though, I believe...

... Sounds too good to be true. Considering it's the first game of the series on PlayStation 4, I guess it might happen, but I'm not holding my breath.

Was Samurai Heroes considered a massive failure though? It's a musou game, how well do those actually do in the west (excluding Hyrule Warriors obviously).

Well the first problem is that Capcom tends to have insane expectations for their games, unlike Koei Tecmo. The second problem is they didn't bother to push the game much at all and as such, didn't get great sales out of the game (not even good by musou standards I believe)

it tweeted it to #BuildingTheList anyway, you never know

Well, Hojo wasn't playable in vanilla 3 so kinda counts! (Poor Hojo)

From the Dengeki interview:
It's the definitive version of Sengoku Basara 4 which surpasses the original (note: the way he said it didn't specifically suggest that this would include any of the story content from Sengoku Basara 4 - it was a lighthearted remark and probably means it will have more replay value than the original).

So it's has not been confirmed or denied. It might have everything, it might not.

It only makes sense, though. I mean, when they bothered to port SB2H to the Wii, they made sure to include SB2 vanilla as part of the overall package deal so that new users wouldn't be SOL if they wanted to play through the base game content. The only difference this time around would be that if they can include the entirety of SB4 + the Sumeragi expansion on one disc, it'd lessen the need for any disc-swapping foolishness.

At the same time, it would be nice for Capacom to actually use that damn disc-swapping feature that they are suing Koei-Tecmo over.

I really wish they'd just sub it and release it as a Digital Download, but it probably doesn't even sell enough in the West to warrant even that much, unfortunately.

^Well it works for PW so I don't see why it wouldn't work on this, but Japan is kinda narrow minded on what games they think westerns will like sometimes.

Don't forget sexy Iyeasu collab costume:

I-IEYASUUUUUUUUUUU!
*Mitsunari blushes*

Famitsu details:

Just some tidbits:
10. All forty playable characters are now confirmed.

A group shot of all of their Sengoku Basara 4 renders confirms that Takeda Shingen, Uesugi Kenshin, Kasuga, Maeda Toshiie and Matsu will be joining the 3 new playable characters and the 32 warriors from Sengoku Basara 4 for a total of 40 characters. The text singled out Shingen and Kenshin as familiar series veterans returning to the roster together, and for anyone curious, Mitsuhide is dressed as Tenkai in the picture.

16. It's possible to import your Sengoku Basara 4 save data

17. There will be 32 new stories - in addition to those from the previous game.
