Silent Hill f - First Look Trailer

I see no reason why this footage isn't the target for in-game graphics. I just hope they don't screw up the combat and make the game too action heavy

My friend who is a life long Silent Hill fan, who was incredibly sceptical of Bloober doing the SH2 Remake (and then pleasantly surprised) thinks this looks great and he is hyped.

I'm not really a big horror game guy, so it was nice to hear he thinks this looks promising for fans of the genre.

Did anyone else find the YouTube event incredibly dull? It felt like a complete snooze fest. All we got was a cinematic trailer, followed by 20 minutes or so of developers talking about it. Who thought that was a good idea? To make matters worse, the game was announced nearly three years ago, and yet—still no gameplay.

It sounds interesting, I'll definitely follow developments and fore I'll even buy it, but... It seems to me more like a game that has nothing to do with Silent Hill and which, with a series of fine speeches and super-bullshit, Konami is trying to make fit into the canons of its franchise in order to exploit its popularity.

My kid's friend literally asked me that the other day.

This is the Horror Evolution We Needed !

I just watched the trailer and wow... I am impressed ! Konami and NeoBards have crafted something that feels like both a love letter to the franchise and a bold reinvention.
The shift to 1960s rural Japan is a stroke of genius, there’s something deeply unsettling about the decayed beauty, the isolation, and the oppressive sense of the unknown. The atmosphere feels thick with dread, and the visuals are absolutely haunting. The use of Unreal Engine 5 really elevates the experience, from the grotesque, spore, infested creatures to the eerie, almost dreamlike environments. This isn’t just good horror; this is art.
And speaking of horror, this looks like the most terrifying Silent Hill in ages. The psychological dread, the body horror, the Rule of Rose and Project Zero vibes, it all comes together in a way that makes me genuinely excited to experience fear again. That sequence with the girl and the flowers taking over her body ? Nightmarish.
With Ryukishi07 behind the story, I have high hopes for a narrative that’s both disturbing and deeply emotional. His work in horror storytelling is unmatched, and I can already tell that this will be one of the most unique Silent Hill stories yet.
Silent Hill f has the potential to be a great game, bringing fresh ideas while respecting what made the series legendary in the first place. If this is the future of the franchise, I’m all in.

NeoBrad’s track record hasn’t exactly been reassuring, but this could be another redemption story of a studio learning the ropes churning out trash just learning how to make games until their first big league breakthrough title. Shift Up honed its craft on shitty gacha shooters before Stellar Blade, while the studio behind the batshit amazing Phantom Blade Zero has thus far released smartphone sidescrollers. I'm optimistic, hope to see actual gameplay of this thing soon.

I'll hold off on wish listing this one until we get actual gameplay footage.

Without Bloober on this one, I have my reservations.

This looks great, a mix of Fatal Frame, Siren and SH.
Clearly it's not enough to draw conclusions on the game itself but after SH2 remake I'm cautiously optimistic.

Hmmm I have mixed feelings about this. It looks better than I expected, like a more serious survival horror game? Also, I'm more interested in a new (good) Silent Hill entry than another remake (yeah, I know lots of people are hyped about more remakes). On the other hand, again...why is this game called Silent Hill?

Why do people talk about GCI? The graphics in this trailer look on par with the SH Short Message graphics. This trailer looks like cutscenes from the game, not CGI.

I like Fatal Frame so this looks interesting to me.

SH2 Remake was kinda so-so for me though. SH games are kinda repetitive and predictable after a while.

This is very true but I think it’s a problem with the horror genre in general (dying once is scary; dying twice is just video games)

But I think SH2R actually handled it better than most horror games. Resident Evil’s approach of “we’re going to turn it into a shooter in the second half because we know we can’t keep scaring you” works, but RE games feel less like horror and more like sci fi action to me as a result. RE2R did a good job making the psychological elements the focus which kept me immersed longer than in most horror games.

Seems to be a story about identity, doppelganger and some rokurokubi shiznit sprinkled on top.

Im in but please Ryukishi07 don't make the central trauma of the game high school bullying it is too depressing...

Yup, and Blooper made B+ walking simulators before making Silent Hill 2.
