Guys who maybe should not answer their phone: Chuck Palumbo and Paul London. Vince thought Palumbo's motorcycle gimmick was cool, but then he got over it. Producers aren't big fans of Palumbo, but Johnny Ace always goes to bat for him due to them being tight from WCW. London actually invested in acting classes, but it is felt "he has no instinct for this" and he has no allies on the booking committee.

What's the deal with Ryan Braddock?: He was going to be brought up as JBL's cousin, but JBL thought he looked like too much of a mid-carder in dark matches. As it is 1978, the feeling is people who beat Braddock - because he's a big guy - gain overness points.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHTIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTA!!!!

Fucking guy. He's been in a grand total of 19 titles for a heavyweight title the past 2 years. =/

I'm actually starting to get tired of the Santino stuff. He was funny when he was more level-headed. But now, he's just so over-the-top now that it's not that funny, at least to me.

...and lost most of them. And yet, they keep giving them to him.

I know it's supposed to be suspension of disbelief, but at what point do you acknowledge that fact? Deny him title shots. "You've had enough and lost more than your share...sorry. Time for someone else to step up."

Kurt Angle rips into TNA's booking team:

TNA’s biggest star has called for an end to the gimmick matches, run-ins and confusing stipulations that have been alienating fans of the wrestling group. In an exclusive interview with SunSport - conducted as he launched the company’s forthcoming UK tour – multiple-time world champion Kurt Angle laid out his vision for the future. Below we print Kurt’s brutally honest and undoubtedly controversial opinion in full and in his own words:

Being in TNA is exciting and frustrating at the same time.

We’ve been doing a good job but what we need to do right now is to simplify things. We get a little bit too complicated with our gimmick matches and run-ins.

I’ve spoken to the bookers, writers and owners of TNA and said: “Listen. Wrestling is very simple, keep it simple.”

Take the King Of The Mountain match.

You have to put the belt on the hook, but before you do that you have to pin somebody. If you get pinned then you end up in the penalty box. When you get out the penalty box you’re still eligible to win as long as you pin somebody and then put that belt up on the hook.

It’s like holy s***, it’s too f***ing confusing.

And that’s one of our biggest matches of the year.

Why not just make it that someone puts the belt on the hook and they win. That’s all you’ve got to do.

We can do all the same spots and have all the same energy.

We did the Hard Justice PPV in New Jersey two months ago and every bout was a gimmick match.

On that show, me and AJ Styles had a Last Man Standing contest.

We were getting ready to go out and they asked if I understood what the match was. I said: “Yeah – one guy stays down for a count of 10.”

And they replied: “Yes, but you’ve got to get a pinfall first before the referee counts to 10.”

So for the first two or three pinfalls, the fans cheer or boo because they think the match is over and they’re like: “What’s going on?”

Then they realise that you’ve got to pin somebody and count to 10, and we ended up doing seven or eight pins.

Again it was made too complicated.

TNA do it because we want to be different from WWE and innovative.

But what happens is sometimes we are, but then sometimes we are too old school.

Let’s face it, a tar and feather match today wouldn’t go over too well. But we’ve actually done that.

That’s a 1960’s match, this is 2008. We’re in an MMA world. Fans want to see mano a mano. One on one. Let’s go at it.

We call ourselves Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. We say: “TNA – we are wrestling.”

No we’re not. We’re f***ing gimmick matches.

Then there are the run-ins.

At the last PPV, No Surrender, we had a triple threat main event between me, Christian Cage and Samoa Joe.

We had a great match, but Samoa Joe won because Jeff Jarrett came in and hit me with a guitar. I would have won if Jeff didn’t do that.

I believe that Joe should have kicked my ass and Christian’s ass and won straight up and then afterwards Jeff could have come in or even waited until the next night on TV and attacked me.

I’m trying to make our younger guys more popular.

I let AJ beat me the last four times we wrestled for a reason. To make him a bigger star.

I wanted Joe to beat me and Christian at the PPV to make him a bigger star.

But what’s been happening is we have run-ins to create the wins, so I get protected.

I don’t want to be protected and I don’t need to be protected.

I’m having a real struggle with it.

We need to back up and realise who we are and what we’re trying to get across.

We have the best wrestlers in the world, WWE can’t compare.

But how do we use them to our advantage? By simply wrestling, because that’s what they’re good at.

Do I agree with everything Jeff Jarrett and Dixie Carter do? No.

But I am behind them 100 per cent? Yes.

And they’re changing things, thank God.

You’re going to see a lot more straight up one on one and tag matches. No more of these bogus run-ins and gimmick matches.

We’re going to triple our ratings in the next year or two if we go by those guidelines.

Because when you have the youngest, best and most eager wrestlers it’s so easy to draw fans by just letting them wrestle.

Kurt Angle :bow :bow :bow

Angle knows his shit when he's not on crazy pills. Joe vs Steiner was still TNA's biggest match ever. Scott fucking Steiner. Just because it was straight-up one on one with no horseshit or gimmicks and given time to build heat.

Put Joe in 20 minute main events with no bullshit every night and I'll watch. I'd even watch Joe/Angle/Styles vs one of the fucking Dudleys as long as there was no bullshit.

I can't fucking believe how underutilized Joe, Angle, Daniels and Styles are. It's like TNA's version of the Smackdown Six (Guerrero, Angle, Edge, Mysterio, Lesnar and Benoit) in the WWE's post-Attitude prime.

Joe vs Angle in Lockdown this year is still my MOTY candidate. I haven't screamed to the top of my lungs in a match quite some time before that.

TNA needs to simplify things. If they do only good things will come. WWE needs competition and TNA needs to provide it NOW.

From Puroresufan.com-

Hiroshi Tanahashi has declared that he will return to TNA. Tanahashi is unhappy in Japan and has plans on signing with TNA. Much like Akira Raijin from AJPW who was signed to a 2yr deal by TNA. Tanahashi feels he has what it takes to be a big star in the US. Many American wrestling experts call him the next Ricky Steamboat. Tanahashi has been taking English lessons also to help ease the transition.
Also...
Rumors out of Japan are that TNA is in talks with NOAH star Morshima
A quick update on Akira- he's doing much better and plans to leave for the US soon. AJPW says that he will be missed and had improved greatly in his ring work and overall skills. Akira, Tanahashi, and Morshima can help get TNA more popular in Japan. TNA should get Speed Muscle to sign with them...

The general feeling backstage is that Ron Killings is protected by management because of being an African American star and is "the chosen one". Officials are pushing him to interact more with the crowd with his raps.

WWE would like to get gain more minority viewers, and view Killings as the person to pull them in. Shelton Benjamin was considered their top star, but the decision was made that Killings relates more to the audience.

Glad to see another student of Manny Fernandez (as I am) getting his shot...

I'm a huge fan of Tanahashi, as he's improved alot since he came to TNA in '06. Can't wait to see him back in the U.S. again.

I don't really like Morshima, but I appreciate TNA reaching out to expand their roster with some international talent.

Holy crap. A year ago today, WWE began running the Save_Us_Y2J promos..:lol Fastest year in the history of the universe. That honestly seems like a few months ago..

That would make a great angle. Have a montage showing all of Batista's title match losses over the past two years. Especially if it involved Flair coming out and calling Batista a failure.

Then Batista could turn UBER-HEEL, cripple Flair and just decimate people for a year before they practically hand him the title after he puts the champ on the shelf (for storyline purposes).

Then, he could say "I'm ABOVE your stupid title" and just vow to decimate anyone who lays claim to the title. He could bill himself as a Champion Killer.

:lol :lol :lol

that's crazy enough to work, except i think too much of the crowd would pop for batista...

Dragon Gate star CIMA is telling people that he's in talks with TNA Wrestling. TNA has also shown great interest in Dragon Kid. TNA plans to expand their international market a great deal. Dixie has told staff to scout the best international talent they can find to help with this increase. Alex Koslov has asked permission from CMLL to work TNA more in the future. Mistico was slated to debut at BFG but due injury was forced to cancel his appearence. Mistico's debut was going to be hyped like Rey Mysterio's debut in WCW. TNA is currently looking at several high flyers TNA management feel can relaunch the X Divison. Pac, CIMA, Mistico, Turbo, and Carlitos from PR.

-Wrestling Observer, PWI Elite, Puroresu Power, Lucha Libre Online, and Super Lucha
Apparently Dixie Carter was blown away from MCMGs vs Speed Muscle match a few months back and thinks that's the type of action fans want from TNA. So now TNA is trying to grab as much international talent as they can and they aren't the only ones-
As a part of their international expansion, WWE is looking to sign more Japanese wrestlers. The company has signed New Japan wrestler Naofumi Yamamoto and had talks with Takeshi Morishima a month or so back. WWE is also still looking to sign more talents from Mexico.

-Prowrestling.com
The Puro scene is said to be in a mess and allot of stars over there feel like they can make it in the US so its looking like we are going to see many more jumps in the future
