Sorry guys, I do not want this. Shattered Memories didn't come close to cutting it for me. I guessed the ending, didn't enjoy the story, and hated the lack of substance to the town. I will give them the character writing. That was extremely strong, as was the psych test mechanic. But in the end, the story felt more M. Night Shyamalan than Silent Hill. The town was gone - it wasn't creepy, there was nothing interesting to see; and there wasn't even a vague sense of foreboding due to the total lack of any kind of threat during the exploration sections. It was utterly blank.

I have my sights set on the total package. I want to feel like I'm back in Silent Hill. I want to be tense, and feel genuine surprise and delight as I discover some horrific, surreal information that gives the building I'm exploring a sense of history and personality. More of the sense that I'm trespassing on someone else's ghost story, even as I'm living my own. More "There was a hole here. It's gone now."

1-Give me a story as creative and convoluted as SH2, with all the atmosphere of SH 1-4, and this time, finally, with genuinely enjoyable gameplay. Either something along the lines of an updated Clock Tower/Haunting Ground; or good combat. Combat which doesn't remove the feeling of helpless fear, but which doesn't make the process of playing the game feel like a chore. I know it can be done. Maybe keep the monster count down but randomise when they appear, and force the player to run away and set traps using bits and pieces found in the environment. Treat encounters like a series of puzzles with various solutions. Perhaps include a smattering of 2-RE4 style gunplay, but with massively limited ammunition; so that your character might be forced to cripple some enemies and leave them alive and dangerous rather than kill them. 3-Maybe even include a stealth mechanic: enter a room and make damn sure your flashlight is out, because any creatures will descend on you and tear you to pieces unless you can sneak past, lure them away, or creep up on one so you can finally take it down with a blunt object. Whatever. I don't care. I refuse to believe it is impossible to keep the game scary without clunky combat.

4-This is all wishful thinking though. Regardless of its flaws or missed opportunities, I'd be happy to simply have a Silent Hill sequel that actually feels like a real Silent Hill game.
1-Now that you mention it SH2, accomplished what SM tried to. Without any gimmicks or waggle.

2- I hope not. One of the things i loved about Sh was how different it was compared to RE. Unlimited inventory ,plenty of ammo. Those two things didn't take any immersion, or fear away form me.

3-Siren Blood Curse is your game. As for the clunky combat. I'll never understand it when people say Survival Horror gamplay is clunky. The only game I've play with truly horrid combat/control is the OG Silent Hill. Still love that game to pieces.

4-With Team Silent gone it really doesn't seem likely. Climax did show that they can replicate the atmosphere. So a cross between SM/Origins minus the awful breakable weapons= a damn good SH. But i would still prefer Team Silent were at the helm.

- A TRUE Shining Force sequel (must be an SRPG)
- Streets of Rage 4
- a non-Street Fighter fighting game from Capcom using SFIV's engine (so I guess Vampire)
- Tatsunoko vs Capcom 2 OR another Marvel vs game
- next gen Virtual ON (as in PS4 next gen)
- Alien vs Predator 2 (a sequel to the ARCADE game from Capcom, though the PC game owned too)
- spiritual sequel to GOD HAND
- Metal Warriors 2 (please keep the 2D gameplay)
- Zack and Wiki 2
- a TRUE Guardian Heroes sequel
- MegaTen game for home consoles
- Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 4 (home port plz thx)
- Zombies Ate My Neighbors 2
- a GOOD home port of Arcana Heart 3
- another Ketsui
- Rockman ZX3
- sequel to Snatcher

Well I definitely have to add some more now.

Breath of Fire VI - c'mon already Capcom
Shadow Hearts IV - this series was refreshing and deserves to continue
Starcraft II - duh
Halo: Reach - I'm hoping they add something completely new to revitalize the series. All the past Halo's have been rehashes.
Final Fantasy XIII - I'm nervous because of the new direction they went but am a fan of the series.
Final Fantasy XIV - still a fan of XI and love the visuals of the new one. Here's hoping for something that shows up on non-FF-fan radars'.
Tales of - I'm enjoying Tales of Vesperia and have always loved the visuals, characters, and elements that they continue to add.
Twisted Metal 3 - a huge fan of the series and a nice new PS3 version with online would be superb.

Mass Effect 3
Star Wars: The Old Republic
The Legend of Dragoon 2 (although I also wouldn't mind a remake of the original for PS3)
Modern Warfare 3
Batman: Arkham Asylum 2
StarCraft 2
Jade Empire 2
Dragon Age 2

Dragon Quest IX - bought a DS for this way back. I hope everyone that showed so much interest in the announcement of DQIX actually supports the game!
Halo: Reach - I have high hopes for this game, and I hope the game meets those expectations.
God of War 3 - Kratos.
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker - MGS3 is probably my favorite game ever, so of course I am looking forward to this.

Can't really think of any unannounced sequels at the moment.
EDIT: okay, I thought of two unannounced sequels I want. EverQuest Online Adventures 2 and SOCOM 4. EQOA was my first MMO, and it had such a great online community. I would love to see a sequel, but I know it will never happen.

Skies of Arcadia 2

Vyse and Aika and Fina appear in Valkyria Chronicles AND AFTER THE GAME
THEY LEFT AS MYSTERIOUSLY AS THEY APPEARED WITH SOME DUDE NAMED ALEX. This can only mean that Alex is a character in SoA2 and that the game is actually in the making!

Bayonetta 2
No More Heroes 2
Halo Reach
Splinter Cell Conviction
Batman: Gotham City?
Fable 3
Mass Effect 2
Super Street Fighter 4
Bioshock 2
Lost Planet 2

That's all I can think of for now.

Same here, and still waiting. At this rate will get DQIX after FFXIII.:/

I'll go with a less obvious one.

Breakdown 2.

Am I the only that actually liked this game? Not many other games have used the first person perspective to create a greater immersion factor as well as Breakdown did.

"Breath of Fire VI - c'mon already Capcom"

I've given up on this.

However - Suikoden Vi - picking up directly from where Suikoden III left off - is still in my hopes and dreams.

That I know are coming:

- Monster Hunter Tri
- Super SF IV
- Final Fantasy XIV
- Parasite Eve 3

That Im hoping for:

- Chrono Anything
- Vagrant Story
- Virtua Fighter 6
- an Indiana Jones point and click game

Since we're allowed to self-indulge

Hydro Thunder 2
New Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver game
Eternal Darkness 2
New F-Zero
New Star Fox
SMT 5
Xenosaga IV-VI

Yea, I wouldn't be suprised if DQIX doesn't even get officially announced for the U.S. before FFXIII, unfortunately.

Jak and daxter, Zone of the enders, getting up (contents under pressure) sequel. Soul Reaver game. I wont say kingdom hearts 3 because i will have birth by sleep to keep me busy for a long time :D

Glad to see some fellow breakdown fans, makes my smile within.

I'm hoping for:

- An isometric Fallout (just sayin! I nonetheless loved Fallout 3)
- A true sequel to the best soccer sim ever made, PES6.
- A Football Manager iteration that is actually optimized
- Not really a sequel, but modern remakes of Loom, Police Quest, Space Quest etc
- A real sequel to Red Alert, less camp and a more realistic take (a la Generals)
- GTA4 expansions on PC/PS3
