I find the sex scenes in the Wolfenstein games embarrassingly awful.

No matter where you look at it, besides one point, sex scenes are utterly pointless. In my opinion.

For jerking it? None of them go that far in it, or are well animated for that matter.
And there are games made for that particular purpose.
Hentai games, or whatever. Those are specifically made for that.

To build character? It's possible, but no video game has ever done it, from what I know.
No video game has came close in building characters through sex, like Berserk did with Casca and Guts, for example.
Where the whole point of the sex scene was to show the effects of PTSD, and the fact that Guts and Casca bonded over it.

To show how intimate these two characters are now?
You can do that with dialogue, or just basic implications. Instead of a badly animated sex scene.

To this day people don't know for sure if Cloud and Tifa fucked in that one part in the original Final Fantasy 7. Where the other characters said "they were looking".
But the implications are obviously there.

Regardless if they did or not, and it was just a kiss, the point was delivered. Cloud and Tifa are a official couple. Or at least friends with benefits.

You didn't need to animate a scene with two borderline minecraft models humping each other for 5 minutes.

I genuinely don't see the point in them, unless you commit to a point in them.
Sex by implication is always better.

I can live without cringe sex scenes like in Fahrenheit. Even the creepy shower scenes in every following game made more sense than that bit did. Overall not important in most of the games ever made, but so were a lot of stories that went nowhere and still stretched cutscenes forever. Stories have much room for improvement anyway, so maybe now and then some capable writer could also add some romance stuff that is not distracting and essentially useless. But we barely get good romance movies anymore either.
In something like Lust from Beyond it served a purpose, as the background for a sick horror+sex mood, might be the most proper use case.

I just looks really weird and fake in games. Like two mannequins bumping into each other.

I'm still traumatised by Lae'zel exposing her hideous plastic lizard minge in BG3.

I'm not against the idea of showing fucking/lovemaking in games, but they haven't really found a way to do it right. It just looks stupid. I can't remember exact games, but sometimes it works when it is implied through dialogue or editing to basically tell that these characters do engage in sex without showing it.

Awful and cringe as fuck, the best ever were the GOW ones where you couldn't see anything and it was played for laughs.

I always wondered how this game slipped past the Nintendo censors?

I know the sex is just implied, but that seems like too much for Nintendo. The game also oddly featured Duke smoking cigarettes to regain health.

Honestly find it cringe af, sex scenes in movies and video games are pretty cringe, doesnt move a story any forward and theres a million ways to hint at it which doesnt consist of 5 minutes are pixels doing it or actors pretending its just lazy writing and literally aimed at virgins

Same as in movies, I am not a fan. They must serve a narrative purpose. For example, in Game of Thrones or movies like Basic Instinct or American Psycho.

You probably really have to know what you’re doing. It seemed kind of OK in mass effect but that game received a lot of bullshit for it as we all remember.

Geoff, my man, fights like a warrior. Well done.

I find it unnecessary, and I'm not interested (nudity included). Options to turn them off, similar to how you can reduce violence or change the color of blood, should also be added to the accessibility settings.

I keep remembering the "all clothes" sex scene in Omikron: The Nomad Soul.

So essentially, it was this weird dry humping scene.

Usually cringe except in the handful of games that have the production value to execute on a very movie-like level.

What I find funny is that western journalists criticize Asian games being "horny" because of sexy designs and yet in most western games you often see full nudity and characters humping each other but apparently that not "horny" in their eyes.
Ehh, there’s a difference between 2 adult characters who act like adults fucking each other, and the kind of pervy, creepy boundary crossing stuff you find in anime style games.

Characters “accidentally” seeing each other naked or groping each other, sexualized minors, pantsu, “1000 year old shape shifting dragon”/android/etc who takes the form of a half naked 14 year old girl, character with the personality/mannerisms of some cutesy non-threatening girl next door but the body of a porn star, etc.

I don’t care for any of it, but find “sex scenes for grown ups” more tasteful than “pervy fan service for emotionally stunted otaku”.

Take it from me, the world’s biggest weeb.

Recently, I got this repro for a PC Engine game called Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire.

It came with a really pervy fanservice poster of the main characters.

It was kind of like, "Was that really neccessary?".

It was pretty funny.

Sexy Aesthetics as in character design.. think Rachel from Ninja Gaiden 2, Conan exiles characters, Quiet from MGS5, Bayonetta, Lara Croft, Onechanbara, Morrigan, etc... Hell yeah.. All the way with that.

Some of those characters are just sexy by default of being attractive or curvy, and some are sexy because of outfit. Both are great in games..
Sex scenes,,, unless its a porn game then leave that out.

Sorry I don't want to see schlong in my games, and don't need to see bush either (although I wouldn't object, its not needed) Sexy lingerie and hinting at things to come sure, but leave out the penetration, sometimes Less is more and leaving those things to the imagination is more classy and the smarter move for a story.

In movies they don't show sex they will show some making out and maybe some tits and then it goes to under the covers , fade to black (or at least that is how it used to be) I like that.

Otherwise with the Western media the way it is, say hello to "Debra" and her 9in hot dog pegging Matt... as such is a western journo/twitter weirdo/reeest era fantasy.
To limit shit like that and tlou abbey, I say no sex... Just tasteful nudity and aesthetics.

Of course I am not going to throw a fit and tantrum if it shows in games (unlike the woke skolds and hard core feminists when they see sexy characters in games)
If you want actual penetration sex in games, make it AO or XXX rated and then label it as such, for straight and gay sex. No problem there, but for M rated nah.

If it's a mature game and it's done right, I don't see why not. I never understood the outrage that is sometimes caused by showing sex in media mainly in US. Like wtf, brutal violence is okay but oh god what's going to happen to our children if they see some sex? Makes zero sense.

Its because they have been programed/indoctrinated into holding that view. A switch was pushed back in 2013 and all the "journos' got marching orders to hate on anything a straight male ( and many real world lesbians) would find appealing. Then Anita and her campagin of carnage ramped that up, and mee too and all those other movements. Now they throw a fit about anything sexy, see Stellar Blade, or Lara Croft.

Notice IGN had babology and Babe of the week until 2012. They scrubbed it from the internet. You can still find some of them in other countries igns if you do the search. They were embarresed, for what , likeing beautiful ladies. Straight guys saying some sexy woman is cringe.... wtf.... it made no sense. Then one by one like dominos all those Cali and NYC companies fell in line with the marching orders.

Yet they love Abby, because it goes with their daddy issues ideology. They will put pegging in to "Subvert expectations" but Deacon commenting on his wife's ass... a bridge too far...lol

If it's fitting and done well like in a film, then I'm sure it's fine. But I feel like it in most cases it's not required or necessary, and just doesn't work well. Unlike what can be seen in shows and films.

Sorceress in Dragon’s Crown is adult character and yet journalist still lost their mind over her design.

And if you are telling me Eve in Stellar Blade looks like “14 year old” then issue is mostly with you, not the game.

This thread brought back memories of Paradise Café on ZX Spectrum (kinda proto-GTA)
Did you knew, Paradise Café was the most pirated game for ZX Spectrum in Portugal? Because of the adult content the game could only be sold in the adult section of videostores, so almost no teens could actually buy it if they wanted. But everyone i knew had a copy of the game. :D

Today thers so many porn videogames that sex scenes in normal games are not exactly something needed. But i like it when a game like RPGs have romance options and the final reward is a good sex scene. Witcher did it better and even had some fun with some funny sex scenes if u got too greedy (Trying a menage with Triss and Yennefer)
