Shadow Warrior 2, maybe I'm crazy

Game sucked. Forcing us to juggle elemental damage in a gun-based FPS was a huge misstep. The quasi-random arenas were a big letdown compared to the first game's handcrafted levels, and felt lazy. Lo Wang used to be a pretty funny dude, but the quips were far too repetitive.

I'll stick with SW1. I won't touch 3 because they arbitrarily replaced the VA because of his race, and literally for no other reason.
 
Tank Girl is one of my favorite movies ever and it's easily the best comic book movie ever. You need to have more confidence in your crazy takes or no one will take you seriously.

It's a fun FPS and the best of the trilogy, but nothing I would consider to be one of the greatest ever made.

However, we all have different tastes. If Shadow Warrior 2 ticks all your boxes then it's the GOAT game for you.
 
Its the best out of the trology imo. I wouldnt exactly call it one of the best of all time though.
It is fun and quite funny though. Its also semi open world too compared to 1 and 3 which are quite linear, and pretty boring imo.

Yeah, I would also compare it a bit to Borderlands as well, though I prefer the smaller scale, more focused aspect of this. Also, gunplay and movement in this game is extremely satisfying. Wrap that up with the protagonist's ridiculous commentary, and I'm constantly coming back to this when I would otherwise get analysis paralysis with my game library.

This series didn't seem to have much exposure so I'm not surprised it's overlooked but it just happens to constantly click for me, I can't be the only one haha
 
I enjoyed the game a lot tbh, but i like gorey fps and shlooters so i was in their demographic.

Gunplay was punchy and gorey and that is enough for me to like it.

The game doesn't get enough credit for his precise cutting mechanic ala mgs rising.

Graphic was also pretty decent for a cheap AA

Just as I seem to be the only one who likes Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel the best, I seem to be the only one who likes Shadow Warrior 3 the best. :D

I guess that is why SW2 clicked with me, Borderlands 1 is the first FPS campaign I ever completed. On another note, I am currently playing through BL4 on my PS5, it is far better than BL3 and the 60 fps mode seems decent IQ and performance wise.
 
Pretty much all of Flying Wild Hog's shooters I've played were a lot of fun. It's a shame Evil West didn't get more attention, cause I thought it was one of their better games.
Which reminds me, it's on sale in Steam right now if anyone's interested :messenger_relieved:

I loved OG Shadow Warrior so much. I thought the remake was alright, and then each one that came after dropped a little bit in quality.
 
I found it disappointing.
I loved the first one in this reboot series, it was a really fun and well paced linear shooter with decent visuals, cool environments and enjoyable gameplay. In a way it captured a lot of what I liked about Doom 2016 but did it 3 years earlier.

While the combat in 2 was still fun, IMO they tried to modernize it too much and added too many elements that ruined the straightforward simplicity of the original. Now you are doing quests, and there is a crapton of loot and the fun linear levels get replaced by boring open areas where it feels like they just throw random enemies at you instead of there being actual encounter design.

Evil West was an absolute blast. It also goes regularly on sale, great game for gamers on a budget.
 
I started with SW2 and the hate for it has always been confusing to me

I've played a lot of FPS on PC; A Self proclaimed FPS connaisseur, and this game is nothing short of Amazing. The movement and gameplay on M&KB is top notch, comparable only to the likes of Doom eternal, Witchfire, etc

I went back to play SW1 and it felt like a downgrade. I played 5 minutes of SW3 and wanted to cry

It can be solid 9/10 if u like the genre, personally i enjoyed it a lot too.
I might be biased coz game was made by polish studio, is pure uncensored carnage( 0 wokeism, feminism or political correctness of any kind ;p) and still holds up pretty well today graphics wise:

4k 90+fps at max setting on 3080 and old ryzen cpu :D
 
I remember playing the OG Shadow Warrior on PC after it came out. Thought it was good, but def not as good as Duke Nukem 3d. Based off a modified Duke 3d Build Engine. I still need to give this sequel a shot.

Exact same - SW1 (not the 90s one) is bad. SW2 just plays way better. SW3 is a horrible sequel.

it was a..... weird game for sure. Kind of an identity crisis. Tried to be a looter shooter lite, but not same time.
