INFO

This tournament is a part of the EVO tournament season. Along with East Coast Throwdown 3, which will run concurrently, it is the last major in the season. After that, it's only a month's wait until EVO 2011 in Las Vegas, July 29-31.

From the Shadowloo Showdown site:

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: Shadowloo Showdown is back for 2011 and if you think Shadowloo Showdown couldn't get any better, you are very mistaken. Taking place at the CQ Hotel in the heart of Melbourne, Shadowloo Showdown 2011 will play host to the best players from around Australia taking on the best the world has to offer from Japan, Taiwan, United States, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and many more in a fight for cash, prizes, glory, pride and to become heroes of their nation!

Shadowloo Showdown 2011 is a two day fighting game event unlike any seen before in Australia. The world will be watching via LIVE stream as these warriors duke it out in major titles such as; Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (360), Marvel vs Capcom 3 (360), Tekken 6 (PS3), Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (Arcade) and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II. Winning is not everything though, many gamers will be there as spectators and to be a part of history in the making. Nothing beats the excitement of watching high level action to the roars of the crowd.

WOO! THREAD!

I am so hyped to try my best at Marvel 3! This shit is gonna be awesome!

I have a twitter if people want to follow my adventures:

http://twitter.com/#!/djjfill

I've entered the tourney as Mr. Touchdown. (of course lol)

Hope everyone enjoys watching Australia get bodied by the world. I'll do my best to not let that happen, but man Australia looks free in some aspects of these games.

The lack of Bon (PlayerJun) makes me want to cry, but I'm still excited nonetheless.

Insert every FGC meme here.

Remember, this one's on eastern Australia time, so it actually starts up some 24 hours or so. For most people in the Western Hemisphere (and parts of the East), if you want to stream monster the whole thing, you'll have to pull an all-nighter.

I thought Daigo was gonna be at this.
What happened?
I've never heard confirmation that he'd be there.

Get Fucking Hyped. If there was ever a better time to use Great Tournament, Great Experience, it's gonna be this one.

My hype levels are Le-Le-Le-MAXIMUM!

It has been a while since their last trailer, would be nice to get a final confirmation of who is actually attending.

Also, apparently there was an impropmtu pre-tournament AE tournament and Mike Ross got 5th, Itabashi told him he was on Akimo's level. He said to hold dat.
I am salty that I missed this :<

I got confirmation from the man himself. No Daigo.

But two of Team MadCatz's member will be there. One you already know and the other, you'll have to wait and see. :P

Yeah, I wish we got to watch that. I'm not sure whether the Friday exhibition/money matches will be streamed either.

I won't even be able to watch that much of Shadowloo Showdown live myself anyway, that Australian time is a killer. I guess I'll just concentrate on ECT3 then watch the SS archive later.

Just a heads-up, Shadowloo Showdown is only hours away. Doors open in about 3 hours, while the first pool is scheduled to start in 5. Not entirely sure when the stream will be up, but most likely some time in between the two.

Also MarkMan has been posting various pics and updates from his Twitter, so check it out:
