This societal shift toward appreciating a 'thick' bottom half, could it be that we are collectively normalizing and even sexualizing those who carry extra weight?

So no one knows the name of this girl?

Nah, it has everything to do with black culture bleeding over to everyone else.

Black men have always appreciated the thickness and the bubble.

Who wants to hug up on a flat booty?

The people who say "she's a man"...

Are you the ones who like those Japanese models who look like they are 14 years old, stick thin, with no ass whatsoever....but somehow have humongous tits?

Extra weight? No one likes a fat ass, but if it's nice and tight like the one above, it'll always be accepted by most.

I was going to mention where I perceived this shift to have originated but demured.

But now that you mention it, hip-hop's obsession with a heavy back end is also a relatively new phenomenon, say ten years?

So I'm curious why they, and then later many others, started this trend?

That petite top, thick bottom (not fat ass but fit) is such a fucking hot look. People seem to think that its all fat, fuck that shit, lady is toned. People seem to think that being fit means no muscle mass at all.

Yeah....um....that's not true. Ridiculously huge asses are out of style. Nice hips, solid ass like Ms. Koeppe's have always been in.

I chose my words carefully when I wrote extra weight. I meant for the term to not imply obesity or even overweight. The girl still carries extra weight though. She is larger in some areas then her purportions would indicate and that is in fact her chief selling point.

If her bottom end were in line with her top she would merely be thought of as a pretty girl and not the sex object she plainly is to many in this thread.

Curious.

Not sure about societal shifts, but many people at GAF (including I would suspect, many of the posters in this thread) appreciate a woman with an athletic build. It's not about a fat ass.

It's the Jessica Biel, etc. fanclub.

Actually, hip hops videos tell the whole story. In the 90's, you see a lot of huge asses, and you'd be lucky to see a non-black girl in the video.

Now take a look at the current hip hops videos, it's very diverse as far as women are concerned. The definition of a perfect ass has definitely changed.

If you look at the the kinds of women that used to be considered attractive 75-100 years ago, when black culture certainly wasn't "bleeding over" they were fairly thick.

Therein lies the problem, by saying "extra weight" that means muscle OR fat. So you'd have to be more specific.

I don't wanna bring this to a racial thing, but most white guys I know and see on TV in general like those thin girls where the booty doesn't stick out past her lower back. Like if their back just turns into legs. Anything more than that and she's "fat".

But nobody likes them sloppy either. They have to retain their shape, but I'll admit, I don't like a musclebutt. I like to slap it and watch it jiggle around a little bit. Upper body can be as thin or whatever. Generally, the thinner the upper body, the better it makes the lower half look when it bubbles out, but it's not all that important.

For the same reasons they refuse to pull up their pants?

It's probably just an extension of prison borne punk/homosexual culture, I mean after all - if we look back beyond Sir Mix-A-Lot - Freddie Mercury was the first to sing about "Fat Bottom Girls". ;)

Don't you dare take something as beautiful as the love for a woman's ass and try to pervert it with prison and homosexual ties! Are you crazy?

And that song by Freddie Mercury is awesome. :D

Hey, just pointing out that when you have a large portion of your population incarcerated and you're not going to see any poonany anytime soon, the evolutionary impulse to worship poop chutes seems to make a whole lot more sense. :D

Are you crazy?

Why do people still ask? Sheesh, I thought it was obvious by now.

Jesus christ, I was eating my dinner and I saw that I was sick. GAF, there is a differnece between a big ass and a fat ass......and she has a fat ass. Shes actually kind of tubby.

There is absolutely nothing new, trendy, or unique to hip hop/black people about it.

Hey I am glad this thread led me to Alexis Texas.

She has creepy baby teeth.

Don't look at her Wikipedia page if you want to keep your boner.

I'm pretty fucking sure that half of the dudes on GAF are gay and just don't realize it yet.

What are you doing in this thread? No Blasians here, move along. :P
