  • Shift Up expects to see strong momentum from Stellar Blade moving into 2026.
  • The developer is considering a multiplatform release for the game to reach more players.
  • If everything goes according to plan, the title could show up on Xbox Series S|X or Switch 2 eventually.
We plan to carry out various promotional activities and are considering additional platform expansions to make Stellar Blade accessible to more players.

My first thought was "why phones?". I play Nikke and their Stellar Blade event had a minigame of Eve fighting various bosses. Kinda sucked, especially with touch controls.

But yeah, Switch 2 would make sense. XBox though...

Probably switch 2 port for SB 1, but I still see SB2 will be funded and will get development help from Sony again, so it will be exclusive again to Ps5 or at least time exclusives.

Mama Mia!!! Save yourself Princess. Daddy's got yellow fever!!!

Switch 2 probably
It's funny how the same people always make the same comments about similar news, and then it's usually the Xbox version that gets confirmed before a SW2 version... or even be the only one that gets confirmed 🤷

But hey!

PS: "Promotional activities"... New DLC? Protagonist outfits with even less fabric? 🤔😂

Based on the install base, Switch 2 is the next logical step. Also Asian games always bomb on Xbox. Shift Up is business after all, Switch 2 makes more sense.

Topher Topher consider buying it on Switch 2 and playing in handheld mode? Ain't no way will missus know you are playing hot girls now.

I can do without the "tasteless sex doll game" my man. The missus would be more disturbed about me hiding it on a gotdang Switch than putting on the TV.

Besides, be married for 31 years and then come tell me how easy it is to hide shit.

"Topher, are you playing that gooner game again?"
"No .. Im doing drugs"

Asian studios are increasingly supporting Xbox. It would be good if you looked into what games are coming to Xbox lately and then SB shouldn't seem extraordinary to you at all. 😉

Also, Stellar Blade isn't a super niche Japanese game, and it's technically and cost-effectively easier to port from PS5 to Xbox than from SW2. 2+2

Then, the studio's interest is (as they say) to release on more platforms (plural) and reach the maximum number of users... In other words, to maximize profit. It's the same multiplatform strategy that the vast majority of studios and publishers have embraced. The only thing that could be a limiting factor is its Sony-related ... but then you remember that Sony already publishes its own games directly on Xbox and that the game, in its early stages, already had an announced XS version in development before its PS5 exclusivity...

So, denying an high probability of an Xbox version is the only illogical thing to do. 🙇

It's funny because not only is the PS5 getting more expensive as the generation progresses, but it's also having fewer and fewer exclusives. Deathloop, Ghostwire Tokyo, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Kena, Final Fantasy XVI and Rebirth, Helldivers 2 and now Stellar Blade :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Why would any company bother prioritizing a practically dead console at retail with a diminishing customer base, over a console that's got massive growth and an actual future ahead for itself?

Projection isn't going to help one bit to get this game on an Xbox like you seem to hope. But if it goes there before Switch 2...fine, whatever. We know what the sales split is going to look like anyway, as do Shift Up.

LoL
I never said that an Xbox version would be prioritized over a SW2 version. I was simply pointing out the reality and how, for whatever reason, Xbox is increasingly receiving better and greater support from studios and publishers, and in all similar cases (games with some PS5 exclusivity at some point) an Xbox version has ended up being confirmed... even before a SW2 version (or even just an XS version).

In other words, denying the high probability of an XS port of SB being announced is the only illogical thing here, whether you like it or not.

So, XS may be whatever you want it to be, but it has a loyal user base of over 30 million, and clearly 99% of publishers and studios of all types and origins release their games on that platform for a reason. 😉

Okay, so you're admitting that an XS version is very possible? You didn't need to question anyone then 🤷

The studios know their projections and business interests very well... When 99% decide to release their games on XS (some even exclusively on consoles on day one), it's for a reason, and Shift Up is no different.

And in all those cases and much more, they said there would never be an XS version because it wouldn't be interesting for the studios to do it on a platform that's falling apart ....🤔
Now you even have niche Japanese games that denied an XS version a year ago, only to release the game on day one without any prior notice on It. This is the situation today at least 🤷

I'd not get too bothered by that poster, something's not quite right there.

dude you don't understand, less fabric =/= sexier outfit

making gooner outfit is a complex and delicate engineering

this is why some lingerie like the war dress in stellar blade makes the character look more "naked" than the straight up bikini costume even though technically the bikini costume show more skin

Just in the last year, two major Japanese franchises had their biggest sales debut after coming to Xbox day one in addition to PS/PC after having had a previously long history of (mostly) PS console exclusivity.

Duh, more platforms = more sales = more records broken = more profits. Even if some platforms are smaller than others. Your fanboy logic cannot change this simple truth.

Major Devs already port to Xbox 98% of the time on day 1. Shift Up had literally planned this game coming to Xbox day one, before Sony got involved. Why do people think that devs suddenly think change logic completely when it comes to late ports lmao? The same logic applies. Watch as even Sony ports all their live games to Xbox after launch lol.

Xbox JRPG selection is very poor. No one that likes Japanese or Asian games will get a Xbox. And ofcourse developers will prioritize the Switch 2 because Japanese/Asian games actually sell on that platform.

Also that confirms a Switch 2 version.

If they mean the Switch 2, the system just doesn't push a high enough resolution and performance to really appreciate the T&A jiggle. Unless you are a teen wanting to keep this game to yourself for wank material. Kids today got i too good, all I had as a kid was the lingerie section in the sears catalog.

I couldn't care less if they put it on Xbox. If its not Play Anywhere they can forget it. Would rather get it for PC with mods in a few years.

The demo wasn't good.

It's less risky developing for Xbox Series, lifetime sales is pretty much a lock.

Sony you have to do all that work around guessing how long of a tail the hardware has and what that means for unit sales of your game. Xbox is simple now, have enough people who currently own an Xbox been deprogrammed by the GP price increases so they will consider buying my game? Or alternatively will I accept the lowball GP offer from MS.

As I initially stated, an XS port is technically much easier and less costly than one for SW2, which is sometimes unfeasible. In other words, as you rightly point out, launching on XS right now is a low-risk business opportunity.

And yes, some studios might consider the possibility of releasing their game on GamePark someday, but only 3% of the XS catalog is on it, so the remaining 97% certainly have other motivations. These include:

- A user base of 30+ million

- Long-term sales

- xCloud version

- (Primarily) Porting to XS is easy, fast, and cheap in times when every studio and publisher wants to maximize sales and reach the largest possible user base.
