Shift Up considering 'other platforms' for Stellar Blade

You definitely need to do some research on what games of that type are available and are still coming to XS....🙃
This might interest you....

The discussion with Stellar Blade ends only seeing the games on the last page😂.

PS. A compilation was recently done here, and only a couple of semi-known Japanese series were left to arrive on the Xbox catalog right now. For the rest, Xbox catalog includes (apart from the vast majority of major Japanese series and franchises) tons of super niche Asian/jap games and series that even the most die-hard Xbox fan would question the viability of 🤷

But hey, its you!!
Ofcourse Resetera will defend Xbox without looking at ground reality. Lets see. No Senran Kagura, no older Neptunia games, no Ys, no Trails series, no Atelier, no older Star Ocean games (Microsoft paid them them to release SO6 on Xbox but the remake of 2 right after that skipped Xbox), no FF VII remake, FF IX literally does not let you change the name of MC (worst version), FF XIV forces you to pay to play online in addition to monthly sub (not in PS), no Shin Sakura Taisen, no Dead or Alive Xtreme, no Disgaea, no SMT nocturne(meaning Atlus will never make all Megaten games available on Xbox), no Dragon Quest XI base version (XIS is a switch port with worse graphics), no Dragon Quest X, no Valkyrie Profil and Dragons Dogma 1 at 1080p without any patch (its 1440p on PS4 Pro and the game is even on GOG).

These are not random small indie franchises. All of these are major JRPG franchises. For each of these they are either not released on Xbox or all games don't come out on Xbox but only a few do. There is no reason for a fan of these series to get a Xbox.

Also both Nintendo and Sony have their own exclusives. Nintendo has Fire Emblem and Xenoblade, Sony has Nioh, Bloodborne and Demons Souls. What does Xbox have?

😂😂

1- To defend his idea that Stellar Blade has no chance of being released on Xbox but will be in SW2... He argues "Xbox catalog of Japanese RPGs is poor"... Then It's shown to him that today it's quite the opposite and is getting better and bigger than ever... 🙇

His response? "Resetera defends Xbox".
He probably hasn't even entered the thread because he doesn't want to see reality because there link was simply a thread compiling Asian and Japanese games for Xbox without opinions. 🙇

2- So, to defend that "poor" label, his argument consists of a couple of niche franchises, a specific game from a series, some better "optimized" versions... and FF VII Remake that come to XSX on January🤷🤷🤷.

Nothing more needs to be said...Although, knowing you, it wasn't really necessary...

I'm not convinced this would sell a lot on Switch 2.

Even games like Astral Chain or Bayonetta had kinda weak sales, ending up under 1.5M each.

Not sure how this one would perform differently.

a couple of niche franchises
oh god is that your cope? You really used that excuse? Did you even read what I said?

Everything I listed are mainstream JRPGs. I didn't mention a single niche JRPG.

Bottomline is these are all the mainstream JRPGs and the fans of none of these series have any reason to get Xbox. I didn't even go into the rabbithole of niche JRPGs on Switch/Playstation.

Also the ports of these games are really buggy. I already mentioned how FF IX won't let you choose the name of the MC, on Xbox and Windows Store it does not work. I also mentioned on FF XIV you have to pay for Game Pass Core in addition to base subscription, while on Playstation you don't have to pay for PS Plus.

You singled out Final Fantasy as the only mainstream JRPG, shows me dudebros who play Call of Duty and multiplayer shooters don't even care about mainstream JRPGs. If you guys keep dismissing major JRPG franchise as "niche franchises" why should major Japanese studios care about making a good port.

The eventual FF VIIR port would be like the FF XVI port. I already mentioned so many mainstream JRPG franchises and why there is no reason for the fans of these series to get a Xbox.

Funny that the bots in Era are the one mentioning random niche Japanese games to promote Xbox, while I mentioned so many popular JRPG series.

Apparently it's a fun game so if this comes to Xbox I'll get it. I guess it could be just S2 though.

Played it last year when it came out, it's a solid B-tier action game. Kind of like "make nier, but extra horny".

And this is why asian games don't sell on Xbox. Its the dude bro shooter Call of Duty audience. This same guy would praise Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 by the way.

LOL. Mainstream franchises, he says 🤷😂.

What you think is one thing, but the reality is that the very few games mentioned that aren't in the Xbox catalog are nothing more than niche titles for general public (nothing compare with what Stellar Blade is)... and the rest are either already in the catalog or about to be released.

The fact that you have to resort to listing games that are in the Xbox catalog but, according to you, don't count for clearly stupid reasons says it all.

He's about to mention a niche game that he wants to present as mainstream, supposedly to argue that the Xbox's Japanese game catalog is "poor"... When were the days when the games mentioned were franchises like Final Fantasy, Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest, Yakuza, Persona, etc., etc.... 🤣🤣

And what does that have to do with anything? The absence of a franchise (especially a niche one) doesn't make the Xbox's Japanese game catalog "poor"... Because whether you like it or not, IT ISN'T, quite the opposite. And of course, the arrival or not of Stellar Blade on Xbox has nothing to do with the nonsense you're spouting.

Also the ports of these games are really buggy. I already mentioned how FF IX won't let you choose the name of the MC, on Xbox and Windows Store it does not work. This is it, sir. You had to resort to the quality or deficences of existing game ports in the catalog to justify your claim that "Xbox's catalog of Japanese games is poor."

No need to add anything. 🤷

It's funny to see how far you've had to deflect the discussion 🙃🤣

LOL, those games are released with Xbox users in mind, not those on other platforms... 🤷

What you're saying is ridiculous and false. That thread compiles ALL games of Asian and Japanese origin, as well as JRPGs style games of all types and sizes, not just niche titles. There are no opinions, and it's not a promotional thread, but simply an informational one. But nobody expects someone like you, full of hatred and prejudice against everything Xbox, to use it for information when its content causes you pain and destroys your arguments. 😉

It's honestly a miracle some of these sell anywhere. I played that demo for the latest Atelier. One of the worst games I've played in recent memory, and they actually charge people $130 for the ultimate editions. It's practically criminal. Only redeeming thing was the artwork on the front of the box, and because it has hot anime girls people endlessly apologize for trash and it gets propped up with padded review scores. And this is what, Atelier 20? 25? It literally looked like a Vita game blown up on the TV. There is exactly 1 studio in Japan that managed to put out a modern looking JRPG on Unreal Engine and that was SQEX's top team Business Unit 1. Not even their Business Unit 3 doing XVI could use anything but their XIV engine which sucks. Avowed is a modern WRPG with a large amount of options in battle, and is pretty much the first Unreal 5 RPG out. It absolutely humiliates any of the games you listed, and it was made with a small team. You could give the Atelier team 100 years and they couldn't make something like Outer Worlds 2.

About 12 levels in hell below Atelier is Neptunia and Senran Kagura. These are literally trash games that should fail. Gaming collectively needs them to fail so they can either go bankrupt or try something else, because it's literal garbage only propped up because it has anime girls on it. Japan needs these to fail so they can go back to the drawing board before its too late. They are coasting on an island of fucking garbage while China and Korea are using small teams making their 1st game and humiliating them. I would welcome ports of whatever people want to port, but I wouldn't play most of these for more than $5. Literal indie games look better than a lot of the games you listed and cost a fraction of the price. I played a demo for one of the cold steel games and the battle system was fun, but graphically it LITERALLY looks like a phone game from 10 years ago and costs full price and is padded out between numerous releases.

For Nocturne, I would suspect there's some kind of money involved in keeping it off the system. The newest SMT is on Xbox and it's Play Anywhere. Sega is a big supporter of Xbox and GP. Trails games, I would try but they don't want to port it. Their loss. I may pick 1 of the 50 games up on PC if it's dirt cheap since there's absolutely no way in hell would I ever play that many JRPGs in a row to catch up. Bloated nonsense.

Xbox apparently doesn't have that steadfast group of 200,000 - 500,000 gamers that will buy literally any crap game you can imagine as long as a cartoon girl is on the cover. Oh well. If anyone is dying to buy these, they will be able to on PC when Xbox fully transitions over.
