All of which I wholeheartedly agree with. I actually UNDERSTAND how this could happen, to some point I actually understand the shooter. Hell, when I was younger I was gleefully happy about the suicide of the german FDP politician Möllemann after the backlash caused by his antisemitic pamphlet.
And all of this, the glee, the low key support, the understanding of this shooter is in my book understandable (disgusting, but understandable).
What I objected to was the marginalization of the NAZI death machine. YOU U.S. citizens still have options. You can soon vote in the midterms. You can still unite and protest and build a counter culture. You can still succeed and make this catastrophe of a presidency nothing more than a weird bump in history.
Those are not options the jews, the LGBT community, the sinti, the romans, people of color, political opponents and even supporters of the regime with a loud mouth had.
But YOU have those options, still. Even if you feel powerless now, you are far from it.
All is not lost. Trumps executive orders are blocked by courts. Trumps health care Desaster is on infinite hiatus. Trumps tax policy does not even exist yet. Those are small, but important victories for sane people. Build on that.
