No one is ever joining the console industry again. Multiuse boxes are the future. It's just not worth it. It's become the smaller niche in gaming, no longer the headliner. Phones and casual/esports PC stuff has fully eclipsed it. Amazon might make a streaming box that runs PC games, but the era of staffing up tens of thousands of people to build a walled-garden console environment is over.

Other companies tried gaming and failed, onlive, stadia and google, 3do, Sega etc. Amazon has its place in books, e commerce.

Amazon's devices aren't really that good, IMO. I wouldn't pay high end prices for any of their tech.

After what they did with LOTR and Wheel of time and many other shows? I have zero faith for Amazon in gaming they are way to driven by political agendas. Enough of that in gaming already.

Amazon makes tons of money off providing the cloud infrastructure for so many other platforms, but they suck at building their own gaming platforms.

Until internet latency, average speeds, and no data caps exist cloud gaming won't make a dent in the market.
