Show us your gaming setup: 2007 edition

Here is my current setup while working here in Taiwan..

22" Viewsonic LCD, 1 x Jap 360, 1 x Jap PS2 and 1 pair of crappy old PC speakers that my boss gave me..

I miss my projector and 5.1 setup back at home.. But for this small studio apartment it's not too bad

Going to get a set of Logitech Z550s next month and if they sign me up for a 2nd year here, I want to get a bigger display too

Ok I know its craptacular, but maybe this post will encourage more people with err 'basic' gaming setups to post pics :lol

I refuse to buy a new tv till a 50" or bigger hits my budget or a decent projector i like is made.

That is a hardcore racing seat. Got any blue-prints for making that?

That's (well, part of) our basement setup. I really like the space for movies, etc. Will start on a family room setup later but really enjoying this for now.

details details..can barely see anything other than the screen, a wii, and some bricks..turn the lights on and zoom out.

:lol That's kind of the point. I like to keep it simple in the basement, just a wii, ps3, and 360 hooked up to the tv. An ornate setup really wouldn't work well with the space. I also like to play in that light, the screen really pops out at you without leaving it painfully dark in the room (go with near-pitch black for movies though). Only thing you can't really make out there is the pile of games (forza, re4wii, resistance, gh2, etc. etc. etc.)

I put myself on a big cushion when i want to use the mac; and i sit back in a big chair when i play one of the console.

Is that the 32" XBR4? I so am ready to pull the trigger on it. Ive read it can do 1080p_24 although its 1366*768, is this true?

how have you enjoyed it so far?

well the european designation is KDL32S2530 (and sony has a bad habit of changing the designation between US/europe) the dude of Sony told me to put the 360 in 1080p, but i don't see a tremendous difference between the two
but yeah it seems to be the same model following the specifications given.

so far i'm really happy with it (but coming from a 17' 4/3; it wasn't that hard)

Just brought home my new Sony Bravia 46" 1080p XBR-3. Here are a few images of my room with it installed. Yes, gloss black everything LOL. Don't mind the room, repainting it next week. Something to match.

And one of my favorite aspects of the TV, VGA. Connected my Vaio and played MVP07 (PC mod only) on a big screen, finally!

The stand worked out perfectly, it is available at Best Buy. The desk and shelves are from Office Depot. I bought them about a year ago, but I believe they are still available. :)

Yama, are the blacks of excellent quality on that TV ? Any clouds?

I remember you are into 'dark' games like Resident Evil... do those games look great on it?
I wouldn't call them excellent, but compared to other LCD's on the market their seemingly as good as it gets, if not the best. My older CRT gave me perfect black levels, which is why I'm tough on the subject. However, for the set they are above average and I have no complaints, even as a former CRT owner.

I tried out Rebirth (Wii via component), Silent Hill 3 (PC via VGA) and Silent Hill (Blu-ray via HDMI). The scenes with the most contrast look best, they tend to use the sets incredible white levels to balance the blacks. When the scene is mainly dark, it tends to feel slightly washed out, but nothing horrible. Even during those scenes, the clarity and smoothness of the picture makes up for it.

Even though you didn't ask, I feel the need to say just how incredible the X-BRITE technology is. White levels, especially if they make up for most of the screen, can be blinding. I don't want to burn the lamp, but viewing PC at max backlight is amazing, especially at 1680×1050 resolution.

Overall I have never been more happy with a technological device that I have purchased. :D

Hey guys, I just picked up these two cheap old A/V boards yesterday at a second hand shop. The PS2 and Wii look like they'll be find inside, but what about the PS3 and Xbox 360? Not enough breathing room inside? Don't want them overheating; would removing the glass doors on the bottom and/or taking out the middle shelf leave enough room?

I'm pretty sure I already posted my old setup, but I upgraded (if you would call it that) from a 30" Widescreen CRT to a 32" Widescreen LCD

I did it just for space, and the CRT was creating waaay too much heat.

(I know the wall mural is ****ed up, ignore it) I inherited those couches from my uncle last November(R.I.P.). They are as comfortable as comfortable can be.

I just upgraded my speakers to these:

My center channel has went from that little shit, to the JBL.

Matching set for left and right. They sound soooooooooo much beter. So warm and oomphy.

Here's my gaming setup currently. I use the main LCD screen for my PS3 and Wii, and eventually 360 when I snag one.

I still use my old, but still great looking CRT for PS2 and Gamecube gaming. My receiver and speakers are used for all the systems. It's a standard 5.1 system.

i am a little regret after looking at your xbr3, i really like the glossy piano look. should of spend 300dollar more and get xbr3 instead of xbr2.
:D :D anyone want to buy my 40'' xbr2

no pictures just yet (in the middle of decorating, actually!)- but i tend to play games on my 26" bravia. i also have a HD projector which i use only occasionally. projected in 1080p onto a 66" silver screen with 5.1 surround

About one month before Wii launch. The entertainment center was marketed as a buffet table for the kitchen, but it ended-up working well for what I needed.
Now instead of boxes of candles, I have wine bottles below the TV.. :D

From Wii Launch Day, so with some loot on display..

And then Jake, waiting for me to put Metroid back on so that he can freak-out when the Space Pirates start attacking..

The couch and speaker system are so going this year..

Also should mention it's a great space to play Condemned in. :D

I definitely recommend it. It's been nothing but great for me since I bought it last november. My only gripe is that it doesn't have a screen fill/stretch setting for content that isnt 16:9. So be aware of that if you decide to buy.

Neojubei: I got most of them from deviantart, but i had my old pc at that time so i dont have the urls, sorry. and yes i printed them out myself

Clouding on the XBR's is a result of the room temperature being different on various parts of the screen. I only notice it when its totally black, and I have the air conditioning on that hits it on the one side. Its not a big deal at all.
