Show us your gaming setup: 2012 Edition

Hello Gaf! It's nothing special, but the cost of living is some of the highest in the country. My setup (for some reason the back lighting behind the TV looks weird in photos; it's uniform looking in person and not three blobs of light):

That blue really makes the colors pop without making it look like they're in torch mode.

I was going to say the same thing. I really was only focused on the shot with uncharted on the screen and I thought the contrast of the desert colors to the blue was what was making it look so good. But looking back at it, even with the fish and a blue screen it still looks superb.

Where those lights DIY or did you buy them somewhere?

Got the lighting for £18.99.not recommended the left side started flicking like mad last night.
So had to take them down, felt like i was going to have a fit.
Will be changing for Ikea dioders this weekend.

You can change the colour of the Ikea ones i think they are £30 instead of £20 though.

Do those change colors or are they just a variable brightness with white?

If Dioder is the one that's a long bendable plastic strip then I can highly recommend it, if you stick it along the top, left and right edges of the back of your TV the lighting is perfectly even. The only minor gripe I have with the Dioder is that the white setting seems to have a slightly blue/green tint.

Grainy phone pictures incoming!

The gap on the entertainment unit with the loose cords is where the Xbox 360 would be. My brother had taken it into another room at the time this was taken.

I guess it's the angle or something, but your messy desk looks like a pretty, abstract still life in the picture on the monitor.

Hi, these are the lights I have. Cyron LED Lighting 6 Pack System. They cost around $130.

There are prob. a dozen different colors that you can use and a setting that changes to music.

Looks good. You def need some curtains, though.

Finally moved to a slightly bigger place as promised a few weeks ago! Still small but an excellent place to game on my PS3 and watch my indian movies. All ready for my forthcoming Vita and I've finally got an arcade stick arriving in time for Under Defeat!

Stay frosty Boss!

Yes Boss wins the most bad ass setup in the thread. I was going to ask how his stuff doesn't get nicked in a second by people breaking in but then realized that the assault rifle must help in that.

EDIT - damn did I spot even a Vita? Must be the only Vita in Afganistan

Not yet. Just ordered a nice Pink case and a cradle for it from japan. Just waiting for amazon to ship one to me at the end of this month. I'll probably get it mid march since mail is pretty slow here. That and Under Defeat!

Yeah, american. Super cozy now! I'm so pleased with all the shelving stuff built myself with scrap wood. And I did some cable management...something I never do at home.

I think the coldest it has gotten is -6 celsius...about -20 farhenheit. Cold but not deathly cold.

That's surprisingly not that cold... I'd have thought that being landlocked like that it'd be much colder than that, like -20 C.

Wow. Can't even begin to imagine what day to day life must be over there. Nice setup though :)

I respect the hell out of this setup.

I will be posting pics soon...

Here is how it has looked for the past 2 years (only pic I could find was from Christmas 2010...not much changed at all).

But Saturday I get my new stuff in and will post pics...

See above for old set up...

New set up (still doing a few things, changing curtains, etc.)

(EDIT)
Sucks how washed out the picture looks. It actually looks great.

And we flipped the room around, putting shelving adn stuff in the built ins.

Thats a snipers Dream house

I like the frame around the screen, kinda makes it look like an enormous flat screen TV.

It's built like that.

Elite Screens, I got it on Amazon for around 320. Great deal, kind of a pain to build, but it looks fantastic. I need to start beefing up my sound system to match, though. It's not bad, but it could be beefier.

Epson 8350

I'm really impressed with it so far. For the price, it's great. About 1500 bucks got me the projector and 110".

It doesn't have 3D, but I didn't want to start collecting them.

Aww. Is that a picture of your cat in the upper right corner? If so, that's super sweet.

Just a generic cat/card :-( The others are a Pippi Longstocking (with Old Man and Herr Nelson!), a coffee shop in San Francisco, and a Japanese/Indian looking card. Stuff my twin sent me. I do have some cat nephews but they are maine coons and live in San Francisco.

Ya dude that M4 just chilling there on the wall is pretty badass, coolest thing I,ve seen in a gaming setup.Do you ever play medal of honor and then quickly run outside and shoot a tree or something just too see how close the game came to the accuracy of the weapons and the terrain in Afghanistan??Since you are living in a real life level from the game that could be pretty cool.
