(EDIT)
Sucks how washed out the picture looks. It actually looks great.

And we flipped the room around, putting shelving adn stuff in the built ins.

Better pic my wife put up on FB.

Console area not pictured yet. It needed dusting and I'm lazy.

Yes, that is the ugliest carpet in the history of the world (which I'm tearing out this weekend. Time for wood flooring!) Yes, it is so ugly we put a rug on top of carpet. And yes, I try for the minimalist look but my wife shoves a thousand little knick-knacks on every surface she can, so my mantle is full of bowling trophies, stuffed animals and other bullshit.

Sorry the pic is so grainy. The lighting in that room could use some work.

You seem so... sad :(

Lol, I feel your pain. Some women think that because they're women they're inherently great decorators. It's why the Christmas Tree Shops are still in business.

I don't mind the carpet.

Just tell her "no tchotchkes in my house, woman!"
You really have to set the tone from the get-go... might be too late for you now...

Finally moved to a slightly bigger place as promised a few weeks ago! Still small but an excellent place to game on my PS3 and watch my indian movies. All ready for my forthcoming Vita and I've finally got an arcade stick arriving in time for Under Defeat!

Watching a movie!

Crappy space but I have excellent views each day:

Look a lot like the bunk I had in sperwan ghar ( kandahar region).

I know it probably sounds pretty dumb but those bunks look super cozy to me. I kinda like smaller spaces though where everything is just well organized right in reaching distance. Big huge fancy living room set-ups never really do it for me.

This is coming from someone who regularly plays Skyrim on his 15" laptop monitor instead of his HDTV or 24" 1080p monitor though, just so I can sit on my bed instead of move to my desk chair literally 3ft away. Let alone the 50" in the living room.

My basement is finally (almost) done, been working on it on and off for over five years.

This room took forever since I had no idea how to finish a basement and had to learn along the way. I've been collecting this stuff since before the Jackets played a single game.

And yeah, I already know the team sucks, so please don't remind me. ;)

This is why the wife cringes when I say the next house needs space for my hockey stuff! Poor girl knows to just buy stuff for me in blue and gold. lol

Nice job on the basement, this thread needs more hockey fans. ;)

I'm up in Paktika. Looking at the photo of the mountains it looks so peaceful but, damn, that whole AO is hostile a hell. Quiet now for a month or two, thankfully.

Be safe, man. We want to see you in the 2013 game setup thread.

True that.

I love the pictures of your setup. I think it is one of the most fascinating setups in the thread. I only had the balls (or lack there of) to do four years of army nasty girls (11B, 27th Infantry Brigade in a scout unit) but my service ended before my unit ever saw duty outside of the states. (They also converted to a MP unit as I was leaving) I have nothing but respect for what you and everyone else in the armed forces do. Stay safe and keep the pictures coming when you are bored.

Not final for this year so update may come.
Gonna change that wallpaper. Just haven't decided to what yet. Suggestion?

I rather sit here. Glorious master race comfy couch PC gaming..

Books games and booze. Arcadestick on top.

Collectors Editions and PS3 games.
Also Invader ZIM! and a "When you here this sound" tape with Transformers. Remember those?
Also that plush truck, yeah it transforms into Optimus Prime.
K5ie3.jpg

Stupid sun made the posters hard to see. I love old Sci fi and horror movies so have a few of them. And ICO and SOTC posters. And a Invader Zim made out of plastics pearls that my ex gave me.
The robot on one speaker is my Christmas gift from my sister. Brother and I got one each.

I know it's OCD of me but the ICO and SotC pictures on the wall are misaligned!

I've been thinking about setting up my TV for PC gaming as well, it's a cool idea.

If you are impressed with it now, paint the walls dark and the contrast will improve tenfold.

I know, I know.

My wife won't let me :(

I may build something black around the screen, however. Long and thin bookshelf-type thing.

Ah that sucks. I'm moving into a new house so I'll have the finish the basement from scratch and design the space. I "could" to a dark ceiling (my wife said that she doesn't care) but I'm thinking of just matte screen wall and ceiling treatments in front of the screen.

I have no clue as to how long we are staying so I don't want to go overboard till I get a more dedicated room.

That place will be a black abyss...

^^^^^^^^^^^

That Army of Darkness poster is ridiculously awesome. Where did you get it at?

Allposters.com I think it was. And yes it is awesome. Can´t remember Bruce looking like that in the movie though....

Damn IKEA frames. The wire at the back keeps moving slightly. All others I have used glue on to make them stay aligned. Time to get out my glue-gun I guess.

Gaming on TV is fantastic. Can put away my keyboard and mouse next to couch easy.
And btw my PC is in corner by the window. Nope not by the TV or by the PC monitor. Keeping it out of sigt =)
like this

And then some large fans running at really slow speed so you can barely hear it as well.

Very impressed with all of your setups guys. Will try and get a few good shots of mine and post them soon.

Nowhere near as impressive, but I still think it's pretty decent.

I just bought a house about a month ago, and finally got everything setup the way I want it. It's a little barebones, but that's kind of the intent. I got most of the big stuff out of the way, I just need to decorate some. Since it's a brand new house (and my first house), I'm a little terrified of putting holes in walls, so you'll see a lot of blank walls.

PC Setup said:
TV next to the desk is connected to a separate PC that acts as a MythTV frontend (Basically allows me to watch TV from any computer). I have a nice set of headphones on the side for whenever I actually want nice sound. Getting a new desk is quickly becoming a priority, I've had this thing a while, and I'm past liking a keyboard drawer.

MythTV Server said:
Can also see where my HDMI cable goes through the wall to my living room there on the right. This mainly stores/records TV. It's a bit of a mess, but its stuck away in a closet with the door closed most of the time.

Production Computer said:
Don't do a ton of stuff on this computer, but it's fairly nice, so I use it to do video processing and such. It's currently ripping The Wire.

Gaming Setup said:
Definitely need something to hide the wires behind the entertainment center. Can also see that I've gotten my office PC hooked up here. At this point I play more PC games on the couch than in an office chair. Also have a USB extension cable that's connected to a hub with a 360 controller dongle and a wireless keyboard/mouse to control the computer.

LIving Room Opposite Direction said:
Behind the chair SHOULD be a kitchen table.. but I don't own a kitchen table. Oh well. Also ignore the "painting" on the mantle. That's something of a family joke.

Books said:
I've probably read far more than gamed the past few years. Most everything in that bookshelf has been read since around 2008. Been on a fantasy kick a 'lil bit.

Current Gen Games said:
Pretty sparse collection, but I've mainly been a PC gamer this gen.

I'll start upstairs, in the family room:

As far as consoles, just the Wii in here (mainly for floor space)

GOOD LORD, A BLUE JACKETS FAN!

That's the kind of room I wish I had, but in Leafs colours. That stick lamp is awesome.

^ couple of games missing from this (not so recent photo). MW3, AC:R for example...

As seen from the picture, I primary game on X360 (I use PS3 for exclusives and games that are...hm..."better" on it then on X360 in terms of performance, framerate, etc.).

My PC rig is in my room, I'll post that sometime later.

Hope you like it.

My living room is now done! The house is still kinda of a wreck from all the construction, so ignore the kitchen mess in the background. I just couldn't wait to take pics.

Wood floors look awesome, but are hell unless you wear slippers 24/7. Uncomfortable in general, and ice cold during the winters.

That's why floor heating was invented.
I think it's a regional thing. US Americans seem to love their beige wall-to-wall carpet.
