Show us your gaming setup: 2013 Edition

Images are quite large

Nice, but doesn't your placement near a hallway lead to awkward collisions? Also, why a small monitor instead of a TV for your consoles?

Been rockin' the same set up for a while now. 9G KURO, Infinity Primus 362 speakers, Boston Acoustics sub [not pictured], and a Denon receiver, whose model number I can't remember at the moment.

How are the Primus 362's ? I need some speakers for a den setup I'm working on.

Well here is mine after a few tweaks. Very impressed by what I've seen in here, puts mine to complete shame, tear.

DBZ and the animated Batman? My man.

im in the process of upgrading my entertainment center after just buying a house in may. I never realized how hard it would be to find a simple entertainment center/tv stand.

Looking for something like this

but in black, im at the point where i might just build one myself

I'm actually worried about how much longer they are going to keep that system. The IKEA Friel was awesome looking, and this is the closest product to that.

You can just arrange it any way and color you like.

Try this link: http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_US/rooms_ideas/planner_bestauppleva/index.html

Just tried it and made this. (4 black/brown shelf units with black high gloss doors)

edit: actually it would be better to buy 2 double shelf units, than 4 single ones.

As already posted, you should get 2 double Bestas. Ikea allows for some decent customization.

Got them for my new setup with a 55" TV (still unfinished) as well, but in white:

(crappy Vita cam xD).

Just wanted to share one last picture of the setup now that I have finally completed it. The last two steps I took were to get new speakers and some awesome cable management. Nothing will change until our next move.

Those speakers are just so nice, one of the best audio related purchases I've made.
I'd recommend getting the little angled stands that Audioengine make though, I tank it looks nicer angled, and since its pointed up at your head I feel like it improves the sound.

Nice setup though!

Ooooh, Besta Time !
Just finished my TV block last night ( 11pm :s ).
Went with a 3*60cm setup, and had the bad surprise to see that there is no other choice than having the back aeration grill with a 32cm tall setup. ( I want to use two 16cm doors on each block).

Went that way anyway, managed to do some nice cable management and went for the new Upleva doors, with a speaker-like material allowing IR-signals to pass through.

Will post some pics later.

Next in line : putting the TV on the wall and starting the high blocks.

Be very careful with the compatibility of your blocks's height and the doors that you want.
There are only ( in France, so maybe in other countries it's different ) 16cm, 32cm and 38cm tall doors.
Went for a 38cm tall block at first, to finally discover that there wasn't any 19cm doors ( needed two doors on each block), so I had to change the blocks and buy some 32cm tall ones.

did someone say Besta? :)

This is a pretty old photo and I now have a 46" Sony in there (can't fit anything bigger), and a nice coffee table, but other than that its still mostly the same

Here are some of mine. I just moved into this house in December and my media room is a temporary set up. Next year I am planning a huge renovation down there with new floors, mounting the TV flush, getting rid of the stand, and sinking some big bucks into a full 7.1 surround setup. For now it's a 70" Sharp-Aquos LED LCD 240hz 3D set, a pioneer receiver from 1994 and 2x18" Pioneer 800watt monster floor speakers with an RCA center channel.

360/PS3/WiiU with around 450+ games, 2 complete Move controllers, Kinect, 2 Sharpshooters, 2 Wii Motion+ controllers, 4 360 controllers, 4 PS3 controllers, 4 Rock Band Guitars, drum kit, mic and stand, keyboard, DJ Hero controller, and a Mortal Kombat fighting stick for the 360. Oh yeah, 4 active 3D glasses too. I run 2 TVs down there with 2 360's when gaming with friends. That's the 46" Samsung on the counter.

Family board games are stored in the cabinets along with movie candy, blu rays, game guides, and a Nerf arsenal of about 10 guns with a hundred darts.

Anyway, crappy pic inc:

My computer area is shared with my wife. The large overstuffed chair is between our desks. Her's a goddamn disaster, sorry! Mine is always neat. I run triple monitors with an Alienware something or other from 3 years ago. I upgraded the 5970 to duel 7970's last year and added 28GB of RAM. It can run anything out there maxxed at 5760x1200. Logitech z550 surround, Logitech G35 Headset, Logitech G19 Keyboard, and a Logitech G13 Gamepad. I have a WoW Cataclysm mouse, which I love. All that shit lights up, if you're into that.

This also doubles as my painting area so all of the drawers are organized and filled with paint, brushes, airbrush, magnifier, ect. I have a little fridge there too that holds 4 cans of Mnt Dew. My ipads flank either side of me when I'm down here, playing movies on one and surfing on the other.

Here is a pic from my old house with the setup I'm describing, as well as my movie collection which is still mostly in boxes atm:

I have a lot of toys. I'm glad we moved to a larger home. We needed it.

Now you see SillyEskimo's setup and collections? That costs way more than someone like mines and vicissitudes setup earlier on this page. So much awesome stuff :)

Silly, all you would need to invest in is some better storage and your setup would look infinitely better. Maybe mount that TV. I can't tell if it's just because it's a fish bowl like picture but that TV seems so far away. Maybe mount it on the wall where your framed pictures are?

Anyways, cool setup!

It's the pic. You are the perfect viewing distance based on size when you sit directly facing the set. The panorama throws off some perspective a bit.

The current game storage solution is temporary. That is a piece of furniture my wife no longer needs so my games are sitting on it for now. I think it as for her cookbook collection or something :P Eventually there will be a fridge in that spot with a movie theater popcorn machine next to it :) My games will be stored in a special area just outside the media room. It's a pretty cool area that will really shine when it's complete. It's perfect for my stuff.

I have about 2000ish DVDs and about 200ish blu rays. 1500 of those DVDs have been backed up onto 2x3TB HDs for streaming to any TV/device in the house.

Shoot. I forgot to post my bedroom. I rock a 56" TV and a 360 elite in there. It's pretty swank. I'll post pics later if I remember.

C'mon over. I also make the greatest root beer floats on the planet.

OK SillyEskimo, you're my new best friend now. I'm moving in tomorrow. I'll bring Cheetos.

May I give some advice? You need more wall art like movie or video game posters. You also need a popcorn machine in the corner, like the ones movie theaters have. Don't hide the movie candy, put them out in candy shop jars. OK, I'm closing my eyes right now and pretending I'm there with all of this :D

In all seriousness you have just established the coolest place, you keep the toys out on display. Bravo sir, bravo. I think I speak for everyone in saying that we look forward to your renovation pictures.

thank you sillyeskimo for showing us that an all digital future is going to be boring looking as fuck.

Sweet setup. Love the Yoshi plush.

Yup, SillyEskimo makes me look poor :(

You and I are getting married now. They've legalized it so there's nothing to stand between us.

Stories will be written, legends will be told, and Aphrodite herself will weep with shame for all eternity at never having come close to matching our love.

Seriously, though, great setup. In particular I love the PC layout but would improve a bit on the immediate area surrounding it.

Minor touches here and there, but good job. You live an honorable life!

Yup, SillyEskimo makes me look poor :(

Honestly though, I like your setup better. A couple good furniture picks / colour co-ordinating goes a long way. Nothing against SillyEskimo as it's a very fun setup, but definitely not my style. It's a bit too depressing. I guess lack of natural light when you're in a basement. Would drive me insane.

Price you pay for very cool theatre and office setups like he has I guess?

EDIT - This is also my modernist clean lines style preference coming through. And maybe a bit of jealousy of all that cool stuff :)

Yeah I know, it was a joke. We're setup bros. :)

I wanna update the classic neogaf setups in the OP for the mid-year mark. What do you guys think are the best / most classic setups and what's the best picture for that setup?

Not posting the weirdo with swords and naked big tit pictures all over :p NSFW!

I vote for the demon souls wood pile empty chair setup from a while back.

I've gotten a few requests for the WoW wallpaper I use, so I' going to put a link here.

Thank you all for the kind words. I'll post more later but I don't want to dominate the thread with just pics of all my crap.

On how my family and I are designing and redoing each room in the house, here is my view from a previous thread.

We like purpose built rooms. For example, in my house we have 3 TVs. But if you want the big sound, big fucking 3D TV, and blackout conditions, you go to the media room for maximum enjoyment. You want to stream shitty movies all day while doing laundry? Watch the one in the living room! Want to sit around and talk? The living room is perfect for that. Want to hang out as well as engage in an activity? Go to the activity room! (No TV in there as a design choice!). My kids each have their own bedrooms but they share a playroom that is designed and decorated just for the two of them. They can play anywhere in the house they want, but their playroom is maximized specifically for their entertainment (as well as a place to hide all those ugly kid toys). They have the entire second story to themselves.

My wife and I think it is as important for the entire family to be able to spread out and have alone time as it is to have together time so we're finishing off the house with this in mind.

Here is a current pic of the activity room, finished last month and still empty. It took a weekend and about $650 to complete. It was pretty much just paint and flooring.

All this shit costs money! We used our nest egg to buy the house and we're slowly building it back up again while also finishing rooms one at a time. We only pay cash for our upgrades so sometimes rooms will sit empty for awhile. We try not to half ass anything, so we don't use filler unless it's part of the overall plan. Hell, my basement plan may get pushed back another year or two due to the planed expense and the fact other projects might take money away from it. I have a feeling our bathroom is going to cost a hell of a lot of money once we redo it. Hell, it looks like I may be putting in an 8ft privacy fence sooner than I had originally planned. There's a tree I want cut down too!

I really, really love the modern, clean setups in this thread. If I were single, had no kids, and had a place set up for such a style I would do it. As it is, I'm in the burbs and you kind of have to design around what you have. The modern, slick look is not right for this particular house or conducive to my family's needs.

When it does come time to finish my media room, it will be glorious. I have it all planned out inmy mind, it's just going to take a back seat for the duration. It's fine now, but I want greatness!

After 6 years with my Pioneer Kuro 5080XD i felt it was time to upgrade!
Having read various reviews, scratched my head back and forth i decided to go for Panasonic 55 inch VT60 tv.
I also bought new 5.1 home cinema speakers, Harman Kardon.

One of my goals was to get all the cables hidden, and have a more clean look for my gaming setup in the living room. It took a lot of work to get everything as i wanted, but im proud i did it all myself! (except wall mounting the tv).

I have sold my HTPC, cause im feeling i want to scale down of the amount of gadgets and cables that i have. The PS3 will be sold when the PS4 hits. And i figure the web browser in the PS4 must be a million times better than the one in the PS3, so then the need for my HTPC is kinda gone since i can watch Starcraft 2 trough my PS4. The built in media server in the VT60 is also a reason i dont feel the need for my HTPC. It basically plays everything i trows at it.. , even MKV:s over 20GB. It also has built in Netflix app that works flawlessly.

Eventually i will buy a Steambox whenever it hits. But i will wait and see how the PC scene turns out once the new consoles have been out for some time. I will most likely upgrade my PC that i have in my bedroom so i can play the must have PC titles that interest me.

Suffered a nasty break-up in March, so I kinda lost everything from the apartment to my/our dog etc.
Sort of reluctantly settled back in the parental house, back to my mancave ways:
