London Marathon: Sifan Hassan stops twice and dodges bike in dramatic win

Sifan Hassan won the women’s race on her marathon debut, while Kenya’s Kelvin Kiptum was 16 seconds off the men’s world record

Usually marathons are an absolute bore to watch, but Sifan Hassan made this one great. She came in as a complete marathon novice and behaved like a very kind, good natured one.

Stopping to stretch, forgetting the drink station, getting and proferring drinks for other runners, looking back over her shoulder while not looking tired at all.

Not sure some of her now peers are going to have taken it too well.

It speaks volumes about the current social climate that I genuinely had to look up whether Hassan is one of those boring, old fashioned types of women, or one of the exciting new types with a penis.
