Well, I am feeling rather cautious because I don't really care for games where you just watch scenes that come up on a monitor, and decide on things for the characters you probably don't really see.
I have been starved of the franchise for over a decade, after all. It would be great to see plenty of new games that have some resemblance to the overall canon. Like when you pick up items, you hear a particular sound. You know? Things you recognize is very important.
In games that are connected to a legacy title, you need to see several things that undoubtedly remind you of the series you know and love.
That is something that I don't like about trailers today. They make everything look fancy with the visual side of it, and that's okay to a degree, because that is still important. It gets you paying attention. But what about how it plays? How does it control? And whatnot...
Now that the dust has settled a bit since the trailers we seen on Wednesday, I can say I am unsure about some of these projects in general, as the developers behind them just appear to constantly do cheap indie games. This could be just as bad as those damn gambling venues, if this is gonna turn out how I suspect it is.
Also, I think the remake by Bloober Team looks great. It's not perfect, but what if they cut out things just to hurry it up? After all, what about the radio James uses to sense nearby monsters in the original? Are we gonna have that? We could get a Capcom type situation where they remove things just to make us feel irate, and they know people are going to be excited for the return of the franchise and purchase it regardless.
"You wanted a new game, or even several new games, fans? Well, here ya go. But it ain't what you wanted, really, so tough sh*t!"-Konami
You have to be careful with fly buggers that want money.
