as much as a clusterfuck diablo's online was, it was still SOMEWHAT justifiable.
Online only Simcity just isn't.

Tried to make a city in East Europe 1; couldn't. Tried to make a city in Oceanic; couldn't. NA servers or all busy or full whatever difference that even is.
Even if I could make a city I couldn't invite my friend since his name doesn't show up in the in game friend's list.
This game is FUCKED. This is like a terrible MMO launch and yet this isn't an MMO. Completely unacceptable.

I actually understand why they did it online only and all the systems in play there. I'm actually fine with all of it. What I'm not OK with is the fact that they did it to be a social experience and I can't even play with my friends because they're on a server that is full and I can't get into it.

Not me! I'm mostly green. Although its getting annoying so I'm almost ready to say fuck it and plop down a Nuclear power plant. And thank you to whoever made a Dept of Utilities, I finally placed my Waste plant and it took care of everything.
Lastly, I'm having a fucking blast. I'm almost at 100k citizens and my students have almost researched the new solar panels, cant wait.
there are no queues.. you're waiting 20 minutes to try and log in again. if it doesn't work, you'll wait another 20 minutes. it's not like you get a solid place in line. you just have to be the lucky one who logs in when there's a spot available

Ughhhh... This is unacceptable.
So hear me out.
On mouse over, My Sewage Treatment Plant says it treats 280 kgal/hour (it has 5 upgrades).
On the same mouse over, it says that the city is creating 260 kgal/hour.
The pointer says I have an extra 78kg/hour treatment excess.
It also says 100% of my sweage is being treated by the plant.
However, the adviser keeps popping up saying that there's too much sewage for my plant to deal with it, so I should build another treatment plant or a pipe that dumps it all in the ground.

I like that it says, "Next attempt to join:". I wish it was continuously trying to join instead of just giving it a shot every 20 minutes.

I would rather the game just shit you out at launch and say server full than this crap where it lets you play but nothing is synced to a server and vanishes at random.
I just logged in and had like 8 regions in my list from where I was trying to make one earlier that just kept spitting errors at me.
Game is beyond fucked at the moment.

Can't make a city on servers that are not full. Game is a pile of shit. I wish I could get a fucking refund.

It should be followed by: "Bad news: You can't play cities you've already created on other servers."

Have you tried? Couldn't hurt. At worst you waste an hour. At best you get some money!
This game is constantly crashing on my system. When I finally am able to create a city after 50 tries, I can play for about 10 minutes then the game crashes to desktop with a "sim city has stopped working" error.
Anyone else having this problem?

Good to have another city, can use it for all the utilities and give you more space in your main one.

Nice job, your city is looking very good. What population is it at?
It's not actually mandatory. Just start the tutorial, then click the menu/escape button. Then hit "back to menu". It will go to the actual menu.

Having a pretty good time so far. But now I'm waiting behind another queue again after taking a break.
Here's some things that NEED to be changed.
-Roads should be Replaceable with avenues and vice versa, that way you don't end up losing plop buildings from demolishing the roads in exchange for new ones.
-The HERO/Villain dlc needs to be optional. It feels really forced onto you in gameplay.
-The amount of random fires is ridiculous. Needs to be toned down a notch.
-Love the overlay grid system suggestions when you lay down roads. They need to take it a step further and add an overlay for the road you're currently plopping so its perfectly parallel or perpendicular.
-Can't add people to friends list unless their logged in. Sucks.

Been trying to play most this afternoon and evening... A) Can't load the only city I have thus far B) Try to join a random public region and it gives me an error C) Try to start a new region and I get stuck at the loading screen... forever.

I switched servers and it made me start with the tutorial again, but the tutorial is busted and everything is grayed out. Exiting to the main menu just gives me the option to start the broken tutorial. So I can't do anything.
It's not like you HAVE to build it?
agree with the other points though, but don't really understand the friendlist one. Do you mean that you can't add friends unless they're on the same server? because yes, that definitely sucks. (at least that's what it seems like?)

You sure about this? Every time I do that, it just presents me with the "Getting Started" screen. Am I missing something else?
I can't do anything because the stupid tutorial won't load and when it does, it doesn't DO anything.

The weird thing for me is, I have no problems playing my city on West 1, but if I try to join East 1, it just sticks in the tutorial and won't let me back out to the main menu or it does something else funky.
Thanks! It's hovering right around 153k right now, which I feel is pretty solid. I need to jump into a specialization, but I'm just not sure what the best option is right now.

No, but Dr. Vu's face constantly pops up when I'm playing. I got annoyed.
I have several friends who bought the game and registered it to their Origin account, but I can't add them unless they have the game installed and they are also logged into SimCity. Otherwise they don't show up when I'm on the friendlist page.

No, you are right. When the server is working correctly, you can back out of the tutorial and skip it. Right now, for me, since I hadn't been on the East 1 server, but wanted to join the GAFers, it takes me into the tutorial but when you back out, it just takes you to the welcome let's do a fun tutorial screen.

Exact same thing is happening to me. West 1 works fine.
God, this launch is such a pain in the ass. My friends and I can't even invite each other to regions so any city I am creating just feels useless until I'm in the region with my friends. After all these 'betas' you think they would have thought of this...
Yeah, Diablo III is the first and last game I bought with always-online DRM. Never again.
AND AGAIN, FUCK THIS IM OUT. Is there anyway I can get a refund?

I am a bit bummed right now; not necessarily because I can't play, but this just seems like one big mess. I am also a bit disappointed with how many regions there are, the size of them (of course) and the lack of extra fun things to do (like scenarios). The game just feels really bare bones right now.
This was sort of an impulse buy for me, kind of like Diablo 3; I bought into all the hype. I don't regret buying the game at this point, because I believe it can still be fun. However, at this point, I sort of wish I spent my $40.00 on the latest Sims 3 expansion...lol at least I know that game works fine and has a ton of content in it.
