I was saddened to learn today that the composer Sir John Tavener has died.

I assume that he was best known here for his music featured in the films Children of Men and The Tree of Life, along with his Song For Athene, which was performed at Princess Diana's funeral.

If you are at all interested in contemporary classical music, then please take the time to listen to some of his work.

I do believe that there is a music that exists, that it is possible for us as human beings to find that already exists in the cosmos. This is the uncreated music of God, as I believe it exists. All of us, as creators, go as far as we can.
