What if you have avatars off, I mean whose avatar is a creepy rabbit? I vaguely remember Ani's to be a donkey?!

Do you have the mag? At least can you quote some interesting comments?

I don't have the issue myself, but from another forum, they quoted:

"Buffed and polished to a perfect point, ZSS is one in the eye for the naysayers, and a spectacular return to form for its developer; a solemn reminder that, when it comes to crafting worlds, nobody does it quite like Nintendo"

Not bad eh?

most likely different reviewers for the two games.

No we don't, just having played RAGE and agreeing with teh consensus that it is indded a weak game, seeing a mag give it 9 is a bit hard to take...

let's not get into the habit of discrediting an entire magazine because of a difference of opinion.

OH GOD DAMMIT

You don't fool me with your sarcasm. You know, I always thought of it as a dragon before - how wrong I was... :/ I won't make that mistake again. What kind of rabbit is it? is it a Were-Rabbit?

True words. 9 is a great score if true, but one I don't feel befits a 7/10 title like RAGE, but, each to their own :)

Ive been subscribing to Games TM for 2 years, and reading them for 6. They are very unconventional (compared to expectations) when it comes to 10/10 reviews, and they are rarely the ones you would pick.

But when they give a 9, its almost always well justified, and their reviews are generally very high quality.

These are the games they've given 10 to:

Metroid Prime
Burnout 3
Gears of War
God of War II
Bioshock
Grand Theft Auto IV
Fallout 3
Demon's Souls
Mass Effect 2
Super Mario Galaxy 2
LittleBigPlanet 2
Dead Space 2

There's no rhyme or reason. I reckon (as it should be) most of these 10s are just games that caught the reviewer in a really good mood for it. The Demon's Souls review was a great example of that.

It's interesting that in an issue after the Demon's Souls 10, they said it was the most controversial 10 they gave, even within their own office.

It just depends on what reviewer is given what game really. They all have different opinions

The EDGE SS review has me postitively beeming!

This sounds like the Zelda I've always wanted as I've always struggled with prior entries. As stated on GAF numermous times, i've NEVER finished a Zelda, whether due to boredom, timing, or some archiac design choices that would drive me away.

SS sounds like Nintendo's finally having this frachise grow up and move forward

On Facebook I have to endure nothing but "who needs Zelda when you have the bigger and grittier Skyrim"

They just... the little kittens don't quite get that they're two incredibly different things. Also too many gamers these days are failing to respect their elders.

Ah well, special place reserved for them in HELL.

that's funny. there's a guy on my facebook friend list that posts the most hilariously cliche criticisms of nintendo games; it's like removed from the discourse here, where there are actually people smart enough to know that the "nintendo is for kids only" line has breached the line between insanity and satire, he can totally get away with it and pitch himself as a game expert.

now that i think on it, it is the premier example to showcase how abstracted the "friend list" is from actual friendship. in reality i hate this man and want him to die a horrible death.

Just ignore the little shits. Those kind of kids are the kind that have mommy and daddy buy them their games and mostly play CoD.

God, I couldn't stand Facebook when PSN went down for a month. All the little boys who had nothing to play spamming every page with insults directed towards Xbox, as if it would bring their online back. Those kids literally had withdrawals, lol.

When Zelda takes home awards they'd still deny it because it's on the Wii. And then we get to laugh maniacally.

The whole "kiddy" thing always does a serious number on me every time I hear it because I keep forgetting that people actually use that as a slight against it. Perhaps it's just my brain working overtime in an attempt to reassure me that people aren't actually that fucking stupid. It makes me want to chew on a cyanide capsule.

Soon I hope. I mean GT did Uncharted 3, and thats not even out for another 2 weeks or something.

uncharted 3 is out next week. also sony seem to use early embargoes more than other publishers, iirc mario galaxy 2 online reviews didn't come out till the friday before release.

I think the whole Zelda is for kiddies thing interests me and says quite a bit about where the current state of videogaming and the majority of "gamers" are.
It seems so out of kilter with the rest of the world.

I mean, in the non-videogaming world, puzzle solving is seen as a very adult passtime. You see adults solving puzzles in newspapers all the time. They have no shame in doing so.
Zelda games I think are built upon puzzle solving as much as anything else.

However, in the real world, playing dungeons and dragons is frowned upon by many people. And pretending to be soldiers or knights or cowboys etc is something only children would do.

I'm not saying either is right or wrong, it's just interesting to me. I feel like many "adults" (or teenagers) are using videogaming to relive their childhood whilst trying to justify it by labelling the games they play as mature.

But why try to justify it? We play games because we want to feel like we did when we were kids and there's nothing wrong with that.

Just read the Edge review. Wow..they really make the game sound amazing . I think my favorite part of the review was when they said there were no torch lighting puzzles or block pushing puzzles. Makes me think they are really trying something completely new this time around. I can't wait.
