Infinity Nikki Review - IGN (9/10) > Stellar blade: IGN 7/10

"There is so much to do in Infinity Nikki"

Then why can't I find any videos that show actual gameplay? I've seen a lot of cutscenes and one "boss" that seemed to have the most basic combat system ever. Is this just a dress up walking simulator?

I do not. Do tell.
Very attractive, feminine female character.

No agendas or politics pushed.

Sexy outfits as well as casual outfits that everyone seems to ignore.

Did I mention that the character is very attractive and feminine? That’s a big no-no to these review outlets and the Western gaming industry.

Ah yes a predatory gatcha game designed to annoy you into spending money. Yes I can certainly see IGN rewarding a game that is literally built from the ground up to annoy you unless you pay money into its skinner box every other week a 9/10.
wtf?
Which current AAA gacha games do that? Unless you are really hard on fomo of being not the super best, nothing is forcing you to put money into the game.
Most money are made on looks of attractive characters, and it's player choice to chase it.

The same review outlets that scored the game quite high?

I know you didn't like the game. But the website has already been hacked by stupid people :(

EDIT: By the time I post this, it looks like the website is recovering.

Aren't they all owned by Ziff Davis at this point? Like with Veilguard, you're going to get an echo chamber full of know-nothings towing the corporate line.

In all fairness, it is possible that the game is actually good, but it's not.
That's the real thing that people don't talk about when it comes to game journalism.

That space has arguably had much worse consolidation than the actual gaming industry.

This game does look like it's quite well made for what it is. This isn't a Veilguard situation tbh.

I tried the game a bit on my phone with a gamepad. Mainly just past the tutorial section. It immediately works with gamepad but it works better if you go in settings, controls, and set it to gamepad. Changes the UI to I would guess how it looks on PS5 and PC. This is pretty funny. All the talk of power of outfits. Some sort of magical maybe apocalyptic type stuff that all revolves around outfits. It's all so sincere to be some proper camp entertainment. Reminds me of the serious but fun goofyness of the Red Alert 1/2/Yuri's Revenge. Red Alert 3 sucked

I was mostly talking about review outlets like GamesRadar, the Verge. Progress Bar, the Jimquisition and TheGamer to name a few where imo the game didn’t score that great or above average imo. Also, most review outlets giving the game good to great scores makes it even more suspicious that hardly, if anyone listed Stellar Blade as a 2024 GOTY contender though to my knowledge.

Maybe they're simply grading it for fans of the franchise? I don't see the issue in something one doesn't like getting a good rating, I imagine not many people here are fans of this mobile franchise.

I did see the PS5 game has issues with holding 30fps, which sounds to me like it should have cost the game a little on its score, but then again, perhaps the intended audience simply isn't concerned about technical details so its irrelevant.
